Urban Sociology,Planning, Administration and Management deals with the basic concepts like urban ecology,rural-urban continuum, dichotomy, the city community, urbanism and urbanization. The elements of urban design and architecture has also been discussed. The major foci of attention are inclusive of twenty-first century scenario which are likely to emerge and which have made a beginning of appearance of scenario likely to come up.

Dr. R.K. Pandey retired from Sociology Deptt. facutly of Arts of Lucknow University in 1998. As an eminent sociologist, urbanologist Dr. Pandey authored numerous books in English and Hindi verious in the field of urban sociology. His book 'The Concept of Avtar' published by B.r. Publishing Corporation New Delhi in 1978 received recognition for him and was appreciated by reputed viewers. Dr. Pandey was awarded Ph.D. degree in sociology in year 1966 by lucknow University where he post-graduated and got his M.A. degree in sociology in 1961.
