Game developers don't spend much moolah on Cricket games as their appeal is limited to select countries and cricket is virtually non-existent in America, which is the major market for console games.
As a result, a game which could have been great, ends up as pretty mediocre, to put it mildly. I am a great cricket fan and have played many cricket games, including Ashes and Lara on computer. This game just failed to entice me! I hope developers create a truly deserving console cricket game soon!
Irfan Khan delivers a Paan-tastic performance. The rusty valleys of Chambal produce 'baaghis' and not 'Daakus'. Daakus exist in our parliament, says Paan Singh. Troubled by his relatives over farmland and denied justice and insulted by the cops, the national steeplechase champion and army man is forced to take up arms and form a gang to extract revenge. He cannot resume a normal life later and refuses to surrender to the police. He is a victim of circumstances.
The movie looks and feels authentic due to the rustic treatment and lingo. It is appreciable that the makers didn't fall for the pressure to add an item song, as is the norm nowadays. The film is still a commercial success!
There is palpable tension in some of the scenes and your heart goes out to Paan Singh, though he has shades of grey in his character. The pace slackens a bit in the second-half but some intense scenes and the climax make up for it. Deserves to be seen.
Music is the soul of this movie. Subtract the music and you are left with a beautiful body sans a soul. Nargis Fakhri has a beautiful face, alright, but needs to work harder on her acting skills. Ranbir does a smooth job. His angst is well portrayed. The scene where he tears up his contract with Piyush Mishra is to watch out for. Kumud Mishra, who plays the canteenwala and subsequently becomes Ranbir's manager looks authentic in his act. Shammi Kapoor pitches in with a good cameo. One wishes he had a bigger role, that of a mentor to Ranbir.
Though Rockstar is entertaining, Imtiaz Ali's former works like Socha na Tha, Jab we met and Love Aaj Kal were emotionally richer and one could feel an instant connection with the characters. This aspect is somehow missing in Rockstar.
Overall, a well-made movie, with great music and some groovy performances.
The beautiful, ruined underwater city of Rapture is a grand setting for this FPS with a difference. The weaponry is distinct from regular shooters. It's an imaginary yet believable world.
Loved every moment of it! The game also has a morality scale. The game ends in different ways, based on the moral choices you made during the gameplay! So, your actions do have consequences! Choose wisely! The game is heavily inspired from Ayn Rand's philosophy, so it has more depth than an average shoot 'em up game.
The multiplayer is also interesting with various modes to choose from. All in all, a great game at an unbelievable price for PS3!
Waiting eagerly for the upcoming Bioshock Infinite!
This movie gave me a nightmare. I watched it late at night and got some terrifying dreams thereafter. This is the most 'realistically' shot movie ever. It seems 'Love sex aur Dhokha' and 'Ragini MMS' have borrowed the realistic, low-budget approach from this movie.
The movie may feel slow and uninspiring, especially in the first half but it draws you in as the movie progresses. The chills are few and far in between but do their job efficiently. The movie plays on the fear of the unseen and unknown. The witch is never seen on screen but haunts nevertheless!
Rocket Singh is a rare hindi movie. Subtle, clean, intelligent and honest - devoid of superfluous melodrama.
Makes you feel that honesty is highly underrated in today's cut-throat world of commerce yet it has the ability to take you places, if used intelligently!
One of Ranbir Kapoor's better performances.
I am pleased with the build quality and aesthetics. The board looks good and the darts are razor sharp. Just be careful about where you place the board. You don't want holes in your wall when your aim misses the board! Have some sort of backing around the board that will take the damage of missed aims.
The product is well worth the price and the game is a good recreational activity which improves eye-hand coordination.
This one is a classic with stellar performances from the entire cast. Tabu plays the wily seductress to a T. Irfan Khan portrays the fallen hero with charisma. Pankaj Kapur's Abbaji exudes power and pelf, notwithstanding his short physical stature. Piyush Mishra excels. Om Puri and Naseeruddin add the dark comical satire to this grim, tragic Macbeth adaptation.
Build quality is good. Worth the price. I agree with Raj. Your palms may bear the brunt after a few push-ups. I guess you have to live with it. After a while, you'll get used to it. It's an useful product for those who like to pump it up at home. Using these bars is better than doing push-ups on a flat surface. You will feel the difference in a few days.
Dark. Creepy. Sick. Murky. Mad. Harrowing. Haunting.
The movie is all of the above and more. Worth the time. Dark psychological thriller about an unyielding serial-killer, whose victims represent the deadly Seven Sins. The climax is shocking and jolts you. Top-notch performances by Freeman and Pitt.
