Tenida needs no introduction. He is a name that every bengali is conversant with. The timid but brave, the the escapist but fighter Tenida is one of his kind. He has his innumerable Mamas (maternal uncle) and their extraordinary tales.
Narayan Gangopadhyay is a master story teller which tickles your funny bone through his immortal Teni and his followers from the great Potoldanga.... Long live Tenida and his impossible adventures with Pyala, Kyabla and Habul. Pooro Pudichhery
I am not even a qualified person to discuss abanindranath.. But i have always been fascinated as a child when my mom read the rajkahini or shakuntala to me... It was always a pain blended pleasure i used to enjoy as a child.. the vivid descriptions of landscapes and situation of the ashram or the temple of the sun or the battle fields of the bheels or the flight with the birds...
Thanks to bring back a piece of my childhood to me.. Flipcart as usual gave a timely delivery of a neat book..
This is a book i like to read again and again. It’s one my favorite travel companions. I am a Bengali, but rediscovered myself and rediscovered Bengal in an entirely different light.... Sei shomoy actually takes you through a time travel. You laugh with it you cry with it and in the end would still enjoy the feeling of the jet lag of this time machine ride.
Sei Shomoy is not just a read. It’s an experience.
"Ras Kash Singara Bulbuli Mastak" used to be a popular game I played as a kid... cant say was particularly fond of it but this book... boy.. chandril will blow you away with his humour, sarcasm, insight and overall 'presentation'.
I have been his fan since long as a lyricist of Chandrabindoo and occasional columnist in the Ananda Bazar Patrika...
awesome book... read it.. u wont regret
