Its high time RIM brings something new to the market rather than launching minor updates to their already outdated range. Why would I pay 10k for a 600-800Mhz processor? And BBM fanatics should really try Whatsapp instead. No GPS, low end processor, bad camera and a glossy plastic body. I can get better in other phones in the same price range. The only pro is the good battery life. I would recommend it only for people who hate touchscreens but still want a smartphone. Otherwise you have better options.
The one I am reviewing is the same model but with a custom config of Core i3 2nd Gen, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, 320 GB 7200RPM hard disk and the default Intel HD graphics card.
I have spent some considerable amount of time using this laptop and I am really impressed by the keyboard feedback, the battery life (depends on the configuration), the sleek business design, the screen and more importantly the USB 3.0 ports. File transfers to my USB 3.0 compatible external HDD are blazing fast.
However, the plastic quality on the interiors could have been better and the touch-pad is disappointing. Speakers would be a let down for music lovers but are good enough for a business user. If you prefer portability, go for its younger cousins 3450 or 3350 (Not available on Flipkart right now).
All in all, its a thumbs up for business users but gamers and music lovers should look somewhere else.
I have never been a BlackBerry fan. However, I do appreciate the build quality of these phones. But paying 15k for a phone whose "additional" features are a dedicated BBM key, FM and 3G and which does NOT have HD video recording or even a decent camera to add to the feature list, is just too much. C'mon RIM! You guys have a reputation to maintain and a market to compete in, where every major company is offering the maximum value for the money. I'd rather buy an Android in this price range with better features, a faster processor and install WhatsApp in it. This phone would have been good if it was priced anywhere below 12k.
