Ezio's journey comes to an epic end........!

I bought ACR having played all the Assassin's Creeds till date and as expected this game didn't disappoint me at all. AC has never had such a beautiful setting before, Constantinople is definitely the most lively, colourful and happening city that the Assassin's Creed series has seen. Ezio gets old and loses his lustere somewhat, but is still one of the greatest protagonists out there, Altair makes a comeback and its a joy to play as him, on the other hand Desmond isn't as good as in AC Brotherhood. There are loads of hugely entertaining and catchy characters like Yusuf Tazim. The gameplay really enhances the core mechanisms with the AWESOME hookblade and bomb crafting and superb finishing moves . The game features a fairly interesting campaign with suitable political intrigue and in the typical Assassin' Creed style.
Even if you haven't played AC before you just have to play this one, and oh yeah do i need to mention that Flipkart rocks!!!!!

a nice diversion from CoD................

When i ordered Medal of Honor, I basically wanted to play a game that is related to real-world events and moreover i wanted a change from CoD.
now first of all, Flipkart's awesome delivery bowled me over. I live in Kanpur and got the game in 3 days!!!
The campaign had very engrossing Spec Ops storyline where we play through beautiful exotic terrains in Afghanistan while play a sEALs operative, a Delta Force operative and a Marine Ranger. The game handles very well as it has some little elements of gameplay such as slide to cover and the buddy boost which really enhance the gameplay.
The sounds are really well done especially for the machine-guns.
The scenery of Afghanistan, and the whole feeling of playing a recreated real world military operation is really great. And except for a few glitches this game is a UNIQUE fps.
buy it............!!

Definitely the most satisfying cricket game i've played...........
on 01 March 12
mahaan rated:

Codemasters really did a hell of a job making this one, its graphics are really good for a cricket game (i played it on a Windows 7 HP laptop), and while the batting animations are quite satisfying, the bowling actions really stick out from the otherwise-neat design of this game. It features fully licensed teams of England and Australia with strikingly realistic faces(you'll have to edit the other names, if you are one for realism like me). Whatever little messed up bits exist in the game, they can all be clearly shadowed with AWESOME hawk-eye and equally brilliant professional voice-talent.
I never was one for sports games, but ever since I started on this one, I've abandoned every FPS and every RPG on my laptop.
So, cricket fan-or not just do yourself a favour, guys and atleast check this one out.......

Max Payne slows time and caps bad guys in Sao Paolo in one of the best games in the year...........
on 14 June 12
mahaan rated:

Max Payne is one tough person, he has been through tons of bad stuff but he finds solace in his pills and alcohol. After murdering a mob boss' son, Max escapes with the help of his co-student from the academy, Raul Passos, from his dingy neighbourhood in New Jersey. He accepts Raul's offer for a new job for ex-cops like them and Max finds himself among the glitz and glamour and penthouses of Sao Paolo guarding the family of Rodrigo Branco. A bunch of local militia members are able to whisk away Branco's wife, Fabiana from a nightclub. Things get constantly murkier and Max and Raul find themselves up to their necks in trouble trying to save Fabiana. The game features a lot of highly detailed Brazillian settings both in Sao Paolo as well as other tropical settings such as a militia harbour along the beautiful Tiete river. As you play the campaign you'll quite definitely start to feel for Max. He is not a mindless killer, he is just a man trying to forget the haunts of his life in the States and trying to carve out a new beginning for himself. The whole story in general is beautifully done and has plenty of dramatic moments, the direction is what you come to expect from Rockstar and even more. The sickening richness of the Brancos and other tycoons of Sao Paolo, the grisliness and despair in Max's life and some light moments from characters especially Raul. The graphics on teh other hand are another joy to see, be it a nightclub for the rich, the deserted stands and cafeteria of the local soccer team, the amazing Tiete River drenched in the glow of the morning sun among others. Of course, the story, setting and gorgeous graphics, voice acting and sound is just maybe half the fun, at times it is the gameplay mechanics of the game that steal the show. Bullet time is an immensely pleasing element of teh game as you see bullets whizzing past you and can pick out bad guys with the utmost accuracy, shoot dodge is, simply put, one of the coolest things I have seen in a video game. Yes, it is almost akin to suicide in some cases but just the fact htat it looks so cool can overshadow that. It has all the elements to make a great sandbox game and is quite definitely a worthy successor to the series.
So to all yuo gamers out there, guys do you yourselves a favour, take a trip down to Sao Paolo and immerse immerse yourself in the life of Max Payne.......!!

Prepare yourself for the revolution......!
on 22 December 12
mahaan rated:

Assassin's Creed III is back and back with a bang!! The game's take on the American Revolution pays off to a great extent, new weapons, awesome new environments, new gameplay elements and a fantastic character line-up help to make this wonderful game all it can be.
AC III takes its time in finally getting you into the shoes of our new protagonist- native American Assassin Connor Kenway (or Ratohnhaketon ), however, once all is said and done you will feel glad that the game took its time in explaining itself. However, once you done the robes of an Assassin and take-on the brand new hidden blades and the super cool Assassin Tomahawk along with your Flintlock, and educated by your mentor- Achilles Davenport- you set out to stalk the Colonies and the streets of Boston and New York as you set about to finish the Colonial Templars who might otherwise take over the Colonies and rule over it from within the British Colonists. To do this, Connor sneaks and stabs and slashes through Redcoats and takes parts in famous revolutionary battles alongside famous revolutionary figures like Israel Putnam, Samuel Adams, Benjamin Franklin and non-other than commander-in-chief George Washington. However, as Connor mingles with these Founding Fathers of the States, they start to take him as one of their own, whereas Connor doesn't see Revolutionary or Redcoats, he just looks at the greater good and fights to protect it. However, how he goes about it and to learn about his troubled childhood and family is best left to be figured out on your own.
Now, gameplay elements take a completely renovated look, the climbing mechanics have been renewed and as a result, Connor can now navigate through almost any natural element.
The game's visuals are also a total treat, whether its bustling streets of Boston and New York, the lush-green jungles and cliffs of the frontier, the snow covered lands in winter, and the smoke-filled streets and bunkers during the battles Connor takes part in, everything is really well-made and come as a visual treat.
Sidemissions are there as well- we recruit nearby villagers and other people to help in our homestead, we can also take part in quite good naval battles against the Colonists and more.
All in all, this is an Assassin's Creed that shouldn't be missed by any gamer. So, pack up your gear Assassin's, its time to get into a Revolution............!

Traversing through a winter wonderland has never been this fun..................
on 02 March 12
mahaan rated:

Skyrim is nothing but a gift to the gaming world from Bethesda Softworks, and what's more it is a really good one. Skyrim has dozens of stuff to do for everyone and anyone. You've got fun, dark exploration with awe-aspiring and surreal sights which are a joy to watch, if you like being a stealthy guy, then you got loads of choices such as brandishing stealthy weapons and pickpocketing and lock picking, if you love hack & slash then you got awesome war axes, maces, swords and even enchantments that can be used to capture souls to your weapons.
Lastly, you got an element that every RPG should have- The Element of Choice, but the difference in Skyrim is that it is just awesome.
Skyrim's main quest focuses on a series of dragon attack and dragon re-awakenings by their lord Alduin, it turns out you are the one(THE ONLY ONE)who can put a stop to it, and so it is up to you, the Dragonborn to do what you are born to do.
Now, even without paying attention to the story there are tons of things you can do- Take part in a Civil war, learn Magicka by going to schools of Wizardry among dozens of others....
So gamers, try this one and feel proud that this wonderland's and its people's hopes rest upon you...............

A hugely satisfying WWII shooter for the PlayStation 2...................
on 20 March 12

first to review certified buyer

I bought this game having played all the next-gen CoD's for PC. The reason I bought this was- (a) I wanted more WWII combat (b) The game's take on the 1st Infantry Division really appealed to me ,and (c) I wanted some console CoD gaming. Big Red One puts you in the shoes of Pvt. (later Sgt.) Roland Rogers who is sent in with his squad to fight in Tunisia, where you start off by taking control of an airbase from Vichy French forces, later the game continues the Fighting First's relentless push into Sicily, Normandy and finally Germany, and by the time its over you develop a special bonding with your squad, each time a squadmate dies it touches your heart and makes it feel that these aren't simply men in the same squad but brothers bound together by destiny. Coming to the topic of gameplay, this game ultimately satisfied me no end with its nice graphics and lightening for a sixth-gen console, whether it is the scorching sun in the deserts of North Africa or the fortified coastline of Sicily or Normandy waiting for an Allied invasion ; everything has really pleasing lightening and graphics. Last but not the least, the sound is really AWESOME, every single mortar or rocket strike, the sound of waves splashing, the sound of a M1 Grand clip getting finished and even the calm-shattering sound of a sniper's rifle's shot, everything sounds beautiful and is a joy to hear. The music also is very good and pumps you up when you are fighting not one, but THREE different enemies, namely- Vichy France, Mussolini's Italian Army and not to mention Germany's Afrika Korps, the Wehermacht and the ever-infamous SS. One negative thing in this brilliantly crafted package is that the framerate falters and dips at times, making for a somewhat uneasy experience, but all in all it is finally completely overshadowed by the joys this game has to offer!!
Check this one out guys, and fight the war that changed the world.............!!
And oh yeah, Flipkart's delivery speed and efficiency is quite beyond words!!

Experience raw, overwhelmingly absurd fun on the streets & skies of Steelport......
on 07 October 12

It would be wrong to say that I'm not into sandbox games, I am a GTA follower and loved MAFIA II, but to dismiss SR3 for having copied from them is absolutely wrong. Saints Row The Third has in it, some of the most ORIGINAL mechanics and story-telling and gameplay I've come across. Yes, it is rather a bit too much over-the-top and has in it lots of juvenile moments but all in all it packs quite a punch with innumerable opportunities to pass time-you can protect homies on the ground in GUARDIAN ANGEL or take part in the super goofy Prof. Genky's Super Ethical Reality Show or cause plain and simple mayhem with a tank. Character customization is full and fun and provides dozens of choices. Upgrades and level-ups too provide means to increase all your abilities, your gang and your weapons to exceedingly high and insane levels. There's plenty of fun to be had here and you need not even pay the main plot much attention to enjoy the game.
However, just saying that that you need not enjoy the plot doesn't mean that you shouldn't. Insane firefights with the protagonist hanging from a chopper, shooting while skydiving, UAV strikes, infiltrating enemy strongholds with overwhelming waves of enemies, protecting your penthouse HQ during a er......party gone wrong and pitting yourself against minigun wielding brutes are all part of a day when you're a part of the 3rd Street Saints. The story is nicely directed and you need to have zero knowledge of SR1 & 2 to jump into this one. After a messed-up bank heist the globally popular Saints are dropped into Steelport wherein the Syndicate is in control-it comprises of three gangs, the Morningstars and Luchedros, the main among them, but our SAINTS ain't gonna give up on dominance without a fight and thus spirals off an absurd and goofy and mad-crazy storyline where everything can be part of a day.
To all you gamers out there, Saints row the third is one hell of a roller coaster ride that shouldn't be missed by anyone.
Of course last but never the least, Flipkart's awesome service as always just keeps me spellbound!!

Far Cry 3 : Av Media
Price: Rs. 899

It is paradise..............or is it........?
on 27 January 13
mahaan rated:

Far Cry 3 is one of those games that you probably won't get bored playing, exploring the beautiful, rather gorgeous Rook Islands and craving for revenge against pro-antagonist Vaas never gets dull, no matter how long you take in the beautiful scenery, go hunting tigers, Komodos and Bull Sharks or take your time to destroy pirate outposts to make them your own.
Far Cry 3's story sees protagonist Jason Brody going to this beautiful island archipelago in the Pacific with his spoil-brat friends, however one messed-up skydiving attempt later, they find themselves in the captivity of the local vicious pirates led by a truly.....er wrong guy called Vaas. Jason, however escapes under the cover of darkness, he is later found by he original inhabitants of the islands, The Rakyat, who accept Jason as one of their own and thus, Jason vows to save his friends while helping the Rakyat to regain what is theirs. However, as he gets more and more deeply involved in with the Rakyat, he starts to think about the shallowness of his friends and becomes more and more involved within the Rakyat, his mind becomes conflicted between the two spheres of his life, however, it is left to the player as to how will Jason's story end and who lives or die.
Coming t the topic of gameplay, FC 3's open roam is one of the best out there, offering you endless ways to pass time, you can go hunting to craft rucksacks and pouches for ammo and money or collect different herbs to improve our combat and health abilities, you can climb radio towers in pirate infested areas and disable the pirate transmitters, we can explore this breathtaking words on jeeps, cars, water skis and even hang gliders, last but not the least ridding localities of Vaas' goons is really satisfying. All that you do will help you proceed on the Trail of the Rakyat, to do that we have to craft tattoos (or Tataus) and learn various new skills, this helps you to always keep yearning for points and when you can earn points in such an exciting way that you will always be ready to get them.
The combat is one of the most perfect blends of 'All guns blazing' and stealth that I've ever seen in a videogame. Here also the trail of the Rakyat comes in use as it is the key to learning new combat maneuvers and being able to hold more ammo.
Sound also is sweetly done and it is a joy to hear every single detail of the jungle and the world.
All in all, Far Cry 3 does a lot of things but it probably won't disappoint or bore you. This paradise may not be the perfect vacation destination for foreign tourists, but it is one hell of a gaming experience that shouldn't be missed by anyone......!!
