I have been using the phone since past two weeks and this review is my own experience with the phone.I am not going to explain any technical detail on this but will only tell you the actual usage functions of the phone.
Display: The 3.7 inch screen is huge and is bright, clear and crisp. It doesn't pixelate and watching videos and playing games is enjoyable. The touch is brilliant and is anytime better than any Samsung phone or any other competitor.
Sound: The Beats Audio enhancement is an addon while playing music or watching videos, but the original headset doesn't seem to be a good option to enjoy the experience.
Rather prefer the Monster iBeats along with the phone. The overall sound clarity is good enough.
Camera: I got disappointed here...!!!..I wish HTC would have worked a bit more on the lens part. The 5 mgpxl camera comes with a LED flash, but the images pixelate when zoomed in.If you dont use camera a lot and want to compromise on this then the phone is awesome in itself. Also the secondary camera is not provided,so for all those who want the video calling option, this one is not for you.
Memory: The company says the phone has got 4GB internal memory, but the user only gets 1GB usage. Also another disappointing thing is that when I tried sending a 200MB video from my tablet it couldn't get saved in the phone. Then I realized that, the 1GB user memory is only for the apps that you download on the phone.Other files get saved in the phone's internal memory which is only 100MB, so you cannot receive bulky files from other bluetooth handsets. However, you can still save bulky files to your memory card by connecting your phone to a computer to using a memory card reader.
Battery: The phone has an inbuilt battery which many may not like but that is not a major problem though unless you dont end up in short circuiting your handset (rare cases). The overall battery usage is mediocre. It lasts for about 4-4.5 hours on a full charge (If you are playing music/vidoes,playing games, surfing the internet all at once).Better keep your travel charger while on the go.
Calls and Texts: Many say that HTC phones doesn't provide good network capabilities.Well I never thought so.Till now I haven't got any call drops. The call clarity is good enough. The text threads are also brilliant and the predictive dictionary is an advantage for you to not make spelling mistakes while typing messages or emails.
WiFi and Internet: The regular 2G (WAP/GPRS) connection on your phone is not a good option if you want to continuosly download stuff to your phone because its very slow. However when I used the 3G and the WiFi,I got impressed. The browser is brilliant and surfing is a worthwile feature on the phone.I downloaded around 20 apps (10MB-122MB sized) from the app store in less than half an hour.
Gaming: HTC wins here...!!!..Inspite of the phone having an outdated 1Ghz processor,it makes wonders on the gaming part.It has the Adreno 205 GPU which is a little outdated but it works awesome on this phone.I could play graphic intense games like the SHADOWGUN and FRONTLINE COMMANDO with any hitch and lags.Basic android games like Angry Birds and others are juniors for this phone. The clarity is superb and the sounds are also brilliant.
Miscellaneous: Some other users have said the phone gets heated a lot while running heavy apps and games or also while making calls.Yes, I do agree to this fact but then it doesn't heats up to such an extent that it would blast in your hand.Heating up of the phone is probably because the phone has a metal body and an inbuilt battery. Also the amount of heat depends on the surrounding temperature.I use the phone in an air-conditioned place,I did not find the phone to get over heated. The HTC Sense 4.0 user interface is a brilliant feature of the phone.Check youtube for HTC Sense 4.0 for more details.
The phone is a mid-range phone with some high-range features.I personally feel it is worth buying and I did not made a mistake by choosing this phone.
Some tips I would like to give if anyone of you is interested in buying the phone :
Keep your screen brightness to medium as it is sufficient enough for you to see whats happening on the screen.
Do not play music on full volume, as this phone burts out when you listen to music with Beats Audio.
Do not keep applications running in the background as it will drain your battery immensely.
Do purchase a scratch guard (will cost you around 400 rupees) for the screen along with the phone itself, so that you do not deteroirate the screen soon.
