I would rate this book as one of those books which comes closest to evaluating a person and defining their strengths. The value of the process of evaluation does not end with identifying your Top 5 strengths but gives one a clear actionable points which the Individual can use to further sharpen his or her own strengths. Being a thoroughly researched book it drives authenticity from the data-warehouse which have been used to identify the strengths. The other important factor is that the book qualifies the idea that we are particularly hardwired when to comes to our strengths right from a young age and we need to know it well to really make a difference in our careers. So go ahead buy the book , evaluate yourself and begin the journey of self-discovery.
I would say there are quiet a few books which talk about Innovation in the public domain , this is one of the few books which clearly highlights the steps to achieve the objective. The trick of the trade is to implement the vision & thought , but equally important is how to execute it. A very Good easy read for a person wanting to really understand the subject as well a great book for practitioners who would want do work through the subjects using the references mentioned. If you are in the customers business then read it !!
This book came to me as a recommendation of reading on "Life's Work" , one word to say about the book "It's a Must Read". The book looks closely at all the dimensions that each one of us face in our daily lives with an honest answer. Don't expect any solution from this book to offer you to do things which can change your present outcomes. But the book directs you to "THINK" and then then act in what you'd ultimately want to achieve. The importance of the lessons here are Howard's Insights in his personal view into decisions he made and the outcomes. This in my mind should be good read for Anyone.
This book does give an non-mumbaikar a much better view of what happens in the financial hub of the country. Good insights but at times becomes repetitive to an extent one is wondering if we are reading some people's short essays of depressions and voyeuristic views or is it a story about triumph over adversity. Well neither are expected with a reader left to keep visualizing oneself in the setting. My only suggestion to all buyers of this book is to tread it with some caution while it does have a great literary content.
The book offers a lot of good advise and insight into life's small ways that challenge all of us each day. In the end the only advise that the author clearly gives is that one has to look in-wards to really make the change.
A book that is a good easy flow not too much on the mind , read the lines carefully to be somewhat 'wise' , would recommend a buy.
