Vanguard CK3N1 Lens Cleaner

The Vanguard CK3N1 does all that it advertises. The blower is effective with its narrow orifice and blows away all loose dust. The brush (which is nicely hidden away with a sliding cap) is soft yet strong enough to remove any sticking dust particles. The carbon tip is just awesome - any finger prints or oily smears just vanishes with the application of the carbon tip. The convenient carbon recharge in the cap is another advantage and a quick twist of the tip is all it takes to 'recharge' the carbon tip.
The cleaning solution and micro fiber cloth are good quality too.
The only disadvantage I can think of is that if you want to retain the original packing, you may have trouble taking it along in small camera bags.

Got this item few months ago. Used it once and it feels good. Actually, there are different opinions expressed throughout the Internet regarding wheher [or not] to clean a lens. Some people are of the opinion that cleaning a lens, would wear away the lens coating and leave it with permanent subtle scratches, while some opine that it is ok to do, once in a while, since the lenses are not really "coated" in a way that can be erased by such cleaning.

Keeping these conflicting reports in mind, I still went ahead and used this product. I think I am quite satisfied with the result.

My Sony alpha nex-3 camera lens (18-200mm) had become a bit dusty and oily due to usage during trekking. So, I had to use the lens cleaner to remove the dirt. I can say the result is quite satisfactory, as it has cleaned the dust,and there wasn't any side effect. Of course we probably should not use it on a regular basis.

Later I purchased a lens filter to protect the lens, so that I don't end up dusting the lens.

the blower is of good quality ... unlike some other vanguard blowers ... this one has sufficient to get rid of dust ......... the solution is of excellent quality and so is the cloth ... it may leave some microfibers on cleaning smudges (the cloth) but they can easitly be got rid of by the blower ... the polishing tip is for removing smudges ... to be used only if necessary in a circular sprial motion on the lens directly ,.... it has a special cleaning powder and is not SOOT as suggested by some others ... after its application the lens must be cleaned again by the cloth and solution or just cloth ..... the brush is also quite good .... on the whole the kit is excellent and just what i hoped for ..... I AM SURE IT WILL SUFFICE UR NEEDS ...

The product packaging doesnot identify the country of origin / mfg (also no product barcode, no printed price) and the packaging is not tamper-proof.

The product is well-designed (a rip-off ?). The blower is good quality and is the best component of the equipment. The brush is soft but some bristles are already coming loose. The lens polisher is a disaster and should never be used on a lens without testing – I rubbed my finger on the polisher and came off with a black, sooty smudge. The cleaning / polishing cloth is soft but left lint on the lens. Have not tried out the cleaning solution provided.

Product is definitely NOT worth the 1000/= price (they gave a 50/= discount, though) and is not recommended for purchase.

Amazing product from Vanguard, this is a very versatile product. IT is especially useful when travelling as it has a lens brush, polishing tip and blower all in one. Its an amazing space saver, compact and gets the job done especially when travelling. Used this with a 2 lens setup recently in Goa. it was very useful as it fits in my pocket and I can quickly brush/ blow off dust/ sand just a few moments before i changed lenses. A must buy for any travelling photographer.
