Vanguard Up-Rise 48 DSLR Backpack Price: Rs.10990

Vanguard brings to you the one-stop solution for all your camera transportation needs. The all new Up-Rise 48 backpack comes with enough space to carry a DSLR camera attached with a lens and your complete set of accessories including a tripod stand, 3-4 lenses, flash and a 15 inch laptop which can be secured in a sleeve at the back.

This Vanguard backpack weighs 2.27 kg and the exterior measures 13.78 x 11.81 x 20.27 inch. With the interior measuring 11.81 x 5.12 x 9.84 inch, the Up-Rise 48 consists of segregated compartments to accommodate every accessory separately. These compartments are padded for protection from bumps and can be modified by repositioning the Velcro dividers inside.

It is very difficult to carry a heavy load when you are out on a trek in the wild. The Vanguard backpack has adjustable padded shoulder rests which eases the weight on you allowing you to comfortably hike off the road even when completely loaded. In order to prevent the bag from moving too much, you can use the waist-clip to secure the backpack tightly.

The weather is always uncertain when you are out in the wild. You never know when a heavy down pour of rain might hit on the way. The Up-Rise 48 comes prepared with a rain cover to protect all your photography gear from getting wet in the rain. Climbing hard terrain results in sweat and perspiration. The smartly designed Vanguard camera bag has an airflow design which lets the air circulate at the back.

The Vanguard backpack allows an easy access to your DSLR camera through a side zipper. The sophisticated design of this camera backpack allows you to access all the equipment easily without much hassle by simply opening the zippers on the side, front and on top. The zippered compartment in the front allows you to store small accessories like batteries and lens filter. The Up-Rise 48 also features a harness at the side which allows you to secure a tripod stand.

You can also increase the size the bag for extra room. You simply have to pull a zipper and instantly get added room in order to store more accessories inside. The Up-Rise 48 is allowed as an airline carry-on bag. The Vanguard backpack offers a variety of convenience features which prove to be quite handy especially for professional wildlife photographers who spend most of their time out in the wild.

Solid and functional

I hated this bag 1 week after I bought it. But since I had invested so much, i decided to use it for some time and then maybe sell it.

I have been using it for almost a year now and I cant imagine traveling anywhere without this! Its absolutely versatile!

- Functionality: carries my bulky 15.6'' laptop + charger + DSLR + 3 lenses + clothes for 3-4 days + a kindle + notebook + other accessories. though it gets bulky, I cant imagine carrying all this in 1 bag and still be able to take that unexpected shot with 5-8 secs.
- Build quality: I have thrown it around, dropped it, put it through a stampede, rode in the rain for 4-5 hrs. All my equipment is still intact. And the bag doesn't show it!
- Rain cover

- Tripod sleeve: I don't know what kind of tripod fits in here, but my VANGUARD medium sized tripod doesn't.
- Unnecessarily bulky when you are carrying only 1 DSLR in it.
- The shape could have been better. i.e. More tapered towards the top which would make it easier to carry it around even if the contents in the bag are lesser.

Overall, a perfect bag if you travel a lot and need to carry a lot of stuff with you.
If you are just roaming around the city for photoshoots, this can be your biggest nightmare!

Robust, huge, versatile but lacks small pockets

First of all, my kit (plus what all I keep in the bag at a time):
EOS 60D with battery grip,
EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS-II with hood attached in reverse,
Canon 2x mark-III teleconvertor,
EF-S 18-135mm IS,
EF 50mm f/1.8,
Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8
Yongnuo YN 565 EX flash
Yongnuo RF 603 radio triggers
14" HP Ultrabook with charger
Intervalometer remote, 3-4 filter cases, extra batteries, Bokeh kit, Macro extension tube
and Lowepro Voyager C strap, Ambrane 8800MaH power bank... plus those many cables (HDMI, TTL sync cord etc.)

This bag is spacious like anything. And very well built. You can also expand it to stuff clothes (2 t-shirts, 1 jeans, a towel) and that too easily. The rain cover is better than my previous Lowepro Pro Runner 200AW's. It isn't a tight fit, its bigger than the bag itself.

Very comfortable even when fully packed. I hiked for almost 2 hours in mid-June with this on. The air-flow system at the back actually works!
Side zipper is secure enough, and still I can take out my camera with 70-200 attached in less than 8 seconds. With the battery grip it takes minor struggle though.

One flaw is that there are no small pockets. They could have put a separate zipper for the top compartment, making sure that things don't slip downwards when the bag is vertical (which it almost always is!) but you can ignore this flaw and go for this very awesome, handsome backpack. Purchased it from HG & Sons in Chandni Chowk for 6,500. But with Flipkart now selling it at such a low price, I'd say just buy it off here before you get more confused!

It's a good product but could improve...

If one goes by comparison, there are very few other backpacks with similar feature and quality in the market at this price point, however there is room for this product to improve.
I observed the following
1. Quality material used in the making of this product. A-class quality zippers, clips and fabric all throughout the bag.
2. Has enough room to fit just about everything - DSLR, lens, laptop, tripod, accessories, it can fit all.
3. Does not get out of shape on wearing. Sturdy support all throughout, good protection.
4. Built in rain cover may come in handy.
1. The camera quick access zipper on the side of the bag does not close fully. It leaves just enough room for say water to get in and fall directly on the camera if used during rain (rain cover is provided, let’s just say there was not enough time to unwrap and cover the bag in time). Also all sorts of vermin might get into the bag and do damage to the goods inside.
2. The material used to line the inside of the product is meant to allow the welcrow separators to be adjusted according to the user's needs, however I notice that the welcrow is very strong and during removal the lining gets stretched out of shape and it will become loose over time.
3. The bag is heavy. I did not know this beforehand.
4. The stub like contour on the rear of the bag that is meant to keep the air circulated etc etc...also make it uncomfortable to wear the bag.
5. The tripod holster area is on the side, I wish it was placed somewhere at the center. I have a D7000, 70-300vr, 50mm, and 18-105 with some filters and accessories in the bag. If I place my vanguard 233AP, the bag is not balanced and I can feel it tilt a little to the side.
6. As someone has already mentioned, there is only one pocket in this bag. If one has a few extra memory cards, cleaning items etc, one has to provision separately.
Overall this is a good product built with quality material; however I would say as a product it needs a bit more polishing. Can't say I can recommend this product, but then again there are no other product offering so much at this price point.

Simply the best, rugged camera bagpack

I bought this for my EOS 60D, with 18-200, 50mm, and 70-300mm lens. The fabric and stitching is top notch. Interiors are completely customizable, or can be completely removed in case you want to use it for general storage. Ergonomics is also good, and you can pull out the camera really quich through the side, and that too with 70-300 lens with hood attached.
Price is on the higher side, but its a premium product. Buy this if you have 1L + stuffs to protect.

the best pro bag...

i have been using this bag for almost 2 years.. served me so well.. the rain cover included with this bag saved my stuff a number of times.. u wont feel it on your shoulders, the weight you are carrying.. straps are too comfortable.. great space..
the only thing i feel lacking is.. there should have been a bit more pouches to keep my stuff in place..
but all in all a very good product.. will serve the purpose for a very long time..
