"What do the Grandfathers have in store for us on this day," I ask as I sat down next to Running Deer up close to the cooking fire. There were twelve of us hearty souls gathered before the dawn to face this day head on. We will make the best of it for us all; we must if we are to survive the harshness of it all. Just the promise of freedom is enough to make it all worthwhile, and then add paradise as our new home too, that puts it over the top. A more jovial group of slaves could not be found on this planet, or any other for that matter. How could we not survive? This is the mindset of the Virgo Chieftain and his tribe as they endure the harsh conditions of an ice age. The new planet appears very promising to their survival by having an indigenous population, however primitive. By befriending them, and learning their secrets of survival they will prosper and even share this knowledge with the other tribes. The Chiefs biggest concerns was procreation since there had been no childbirths in the seven years it took to arrive at this destination.
