A must-read

A really awesome piece of work, a result of thorough research and hard work. Apart from entertaining, it also gives the reader a lot of info on the (way of) life of the people there in Assam, and the tragedies faced by them especially in the mid 20th century. It shows the feelings of a girl from a middle class spiritual family and her constant fight to make her voice heard. It is indeed a must-read for any reader. Voices in the valley

Is an engrossing story. The backdrop of a turbulent Assam is giving the story a realistic touch mirroring a reality of rural life.

Its an exotic story with romance and youthful joy.

Will recommend for any young adult or anyone liking meaningful literature.
thumbs up from me.

A piece of art

A lyrical piece of work with intelligent observations written with detailed research.

The book has several themes to it -story of a young girl, story of a female survivor, beauty of landscape and rural Assam, evolution of terrorism in the state...
Is an epic with poetic quality to it.
An ambitious piece of work and would make its way to some big literary award.
