Author Info
  • Milind Mulick is the son of a well-known illustrator and painter, Pratap Mulick. His artistic ability became apparent rather early. He has been drawing since the age of 5 and he started doing watercolour landscapes at the age of 13. \nHe received our government’s National Talent Scholarship to study art, but he decided to major in engineering rather than art.\nAfter graduation, however, he returned to artistic inclinations and began doing architectural illustrations and other commercial and design work. He continued painting landscapes and giving art lessons as well. He runs his own watercolour courses. He also holds workshops occasionally, and teaches a few students privately. \nHe has participated in many group shows throughout India, and have had 20 one- man shows in Mumbai and Pune. His paintings are in the collection of many private individuals and a few corporate houses in India, USA, Europe as well as Japan and Singapore.

Amazing experiance

This is the book what my drawing teacher gave to learn water color technique. This book gives you an understanding to look in details of the technique. Here there are various examples and demonstrations given which tell you how to start and reach a point where it takes the shape of the painting. Milind Mulik has amazing sense of composition and in the book he has narrated enough of his opinion. I just love this book, it made me fall in love with this technique.

Good book for beginners who want to learn step by step and conquer water-color thought-process

Positive side:
1. Step by step approach. It helps in creating the thought process of painting with water-color.
2. Also includes basic sketching techniques, which is useful before directly jumping into painting.
3. Best book which demo transparent water-color.

Negative:
1. It doesn't much explain about color theory.
2. Also no/least explanation about the types of paper and their usage.
3. Little coverage for different types and kinds of brushes and usage of the same.

One of the best book to...

Very Beautiful Book

The book was beautiful. Every page of the book was so beautiful i just sat staring at it for hours together. The serenity and the atmosphere in the villages, i felt i was there. I tried some of them myself and it came quite well. (Not as good as the author, of course) It gave me an insight into how wonderful, water color paintings can be and how every brush stroke can create magic.
