Waterman Phileas Chrome CT Fountain Pen

Considering the number of reviews that have already been written for this pen, I dont know if this would ever be read, but here's my two Cents:

What I LIKED -
1. Amazing Chrome Finish - Right from the cap and clip up to the very end.

2. Great Body Design - Very different from how you would expect a fountain pen to typically look, with long straight lines and no curves what to ever.

3. Fine Nib - Depending upon your writing style, you might love it or hate it. Not really the best nib in the world, but certainly a delight to write with. Your first couple of lines could be a little scratchy, as the ink seeps into the capillaries, but once running, its wonderful.

What I did NOT LIKE:

1. Material on the grip - The finish on the grip portion is rather coarse, and sadly I cannot hold those kind of surfaces. Also, the feel of the cap sliding over the grip - makes the pen very difficult to use for me, personally.

Overall - Recommended.

First impression-pen looks very luxurious and shiny
the box is pretty cool attractive
nib-being Fine nib i was expecting feedback and scratchy
but none of it observed.Nib is smooth but definately less smooth than my Lamy safari(F) nib
pen came wid ink converter
pen skips Little bit in horizontal strokes
Fine is somewhat tends to Extra fine side(its way thinner than Lamy safari fine)
overall its good buy especially if ur handwritting style suits EF nib
for me LAMY safari is still my first choice for daily use :)

If you ever want to own a pen then this must be it. For sheer experience of writing nothing can beat a fountain pen and this Waterman is everything that a fountain pen must be. It just glides and glides and glides, even writes without a blotch in newspaper. Filling the ink is very easy but always use only waterman ink for quality. Go for it i would say guys!!!!!

i received this pen as a gift (ordered from flipkart),i was very much impressed with it chrome body and general finish.I filled it with quink and started writing.The nib was very scratchy and flow was not smooth.was very much disappointed.Then i decided to rectify.went to fountainpennetwork site and looked for solutions.
So everybody who is not satisfied with their purchase can try this(at their own risk).
First i washed the pen throughly with water .then filled it camel ink.even after that it was scratchy,so the next step was to force myself to scribble around 2 ,3 pages,the flow improved considerably but the scrathiness of the nib was still present.After this i tried this pen on glass and tried to bend the nib outword by putting a downward force so that spacing betwwen the nib point opens up(be really careful durring this step or else nib can be permanently damaged)
and Voila now the pen really writes like a Waterman and now all the scrathiness and flow problem totally gone

I am a regular user of fountain pens. This is one of the worst i have ever used. Waterman is a legendary fountain pen brand and i have used 2 waterman pens before,and believe me they are the best in business. But the nib of the pen in question is so irritatingly scratchy that it doesnt even feel like a original waterman. Plastic used in making the pen also feels cheap. Even after a huge discount its very costly considering its quality. Parker pens at half the price write better. So the only thing you get for your money is a waterman pen to show off. It indeed looks great but use it and you are sure to be disappointed.
