Buyed this high end pen for gifting as all of us keep doing... I was really short of time for a good gift... Flipkart was the only reliable option I had.
As expected the timely delivery with good 40% discount was fantastic to have.
Highly recommend this product as a fine corporate gift. Also strongly recommend Flipkart for Stationaries and Gift items including electronics.
i ignored the review and order the product. Very dissatisfied about the product. It is scratchy.. Ink is not free flowing.. Its performance is not surely upto the expectation given the price.. Looks are good.. but looks decieves.. I asked for immediate return of the product..
I am using a Lamy and I ordered this pen, initially I thought that the pen has some fault and I requested Flipkart to replace it. No question asked and the pen was replaced but when I got the second piece i was sure it was not damaged. The quality of the pen itself is not that great.
i received this pen as a gift (ordered from flipkart),i was very much impressed with it chrome body and general finish.I filled it with quink and started writing.The nib was very scratchy and flow was not smooth.was very much disappointed.Then i decided to rectify.went to fountainpennetwork site and looked for solutions.
So everybody who is not satisfied with their purchase can try this(at their own risk).
First i washed the pen throughly with water .then filled it camel ink.even after that it was scratchy,so the next step was to force myself to scribble around 2 ,3 pages,the flow improved considerably but the scrathiness of the nib was still present.After this i tried this pen on glass and tried to bend the nib outword by putting a downward force so that spacing betwwen the nib point opens up(be really careful durring this step or else nib can be permanently damaged)
and Voila now the pen really writes like a Waterman and now all the scrathiness and flow problem totally gone
If you want a waterman fountain pen and do not have much to shell out for it, do go for it. Attributes are above average and price of Rs. 1320 is kind of on the higher side (all but for the brand). Better than a parker any day !!
Waterman Phileas Chrome CT Fountain Pen is a good fountain pen at this price. As we aware waterman is known for fountain Pen and at this Price, amazing.....You realy love to write with this pen. I have seen this pen abord and find diffrence in price. In India we geeting in good price.....
Considering the number of reviews that have already been written for this pen, I dont know if this would ever be read, but here's my two Cents:
What I LIKED -
1. Amazing Chrome Finish - Right from the cap and clip up to the very end.
2. Great Body Design - Very different from how you would expect a fountain pen to typically look, with long straight lines and no curves what to ever.
3. Fine Nib - Depending upon your writing style, you might love it or hate it. Not really the best nib in the world, but certainly a delight to write with. Your first couple of lines could be a little scratchy, as the ink seeps into the capillaries, but once running, its wonderful.
What I did NOT LIKE:
1. Material on the grip - The finish on the grip portion is rather coarse, and sadly I cannot hold those kind of surfaces. Also, the feel of the cap sliding over the grip - makes the pen very difficult to use for me, personally.
Overall - Recommended.
And Flipkart - Amazing service you guys! Ordered on a Sunday, received on Tuesday.
I purchased this Waterman pen and as recommended, I am using it with Waterman ink. When I first scribed with this pen, I was not happy at all with the pen. It was not very smooth on paper. I thought to return it back, but then decided to continue till I get a better pen.
Recommendation - I will not recommend any one to buy it, not at this price. It should be not more than Rs 400.
The only nib-grade available from Flipkart is fine, which may not be entirely suited for the majority of users. The pen is otherwise available in the market with medium nibs, so I dont understand why Flipkart offers only fine nibs.
The service from Flipkart is excellent . I received within two days. Packaging was very good. Now about the pen. This Fine nib is not at all smooth. It is very rough. I expected better quality from Waterman. It is worth trying only if you are getting a discount . This pen is not worth Rs2200. This does not glide smoothly. It is better you use parker ink rather than waterman's
