WD Caviar Blue 500 GB Desktop Internal Hard Drive (WD5000AAKX)

Ordered the WD Caviar Blue 500GB to use it in a RAID-0 setup. These HDDs are known for their reliability and speed. It has 6GB/s SATAIII. Buy it if you have a SATA III port to make the most of it. It also supports Native Command Queuing for faster read speeds.

i has purchase a low end motherboard because i was plannig to buy hi end components, but the problem came wen i checked out the support of the hard drive speed of motherboard it said 3gb/s interface which was a huge problem as the hardrives are out f market and has been replaced by new nes ... I ccontacted flipkart regarding this hard drive and i immediately ordered , after placing order i recieved within 48hours .. Talking about the hard drive it is awesome and gives fll fledged performance

i would suggest to buy it because its far better tyhan segate and adata harddrives

Its good for using as primary hard disk. I just buy this HDD from local store.Its quite good for gaming.One more advise: before buy this HDD, just go to WD website and download "Acronis True Image WD Edition" software.create a bootable disc through it and then create partition through that.you will get full performance because WD launch "TRUE ALLIGNMENT TECHNOLOGY" for better OS performance.

I had bought this drive a couple of days ago and it came with bad sectors right out of the anti-static packaging!!
SMART test failed, all of WD data life diagnostics tests failed on it! So I contacted flipkart and they replaced it relatively quickly!

Kudos to them for that!
I chose WD as they have a hassle free warranty and RMA program in India. Replacement of a dead or defective drive within warranty period is a breeze!

I installed this drive to replace my 250GB OS drive which had a small OS partition! I cloned my OS drive to the WD and installed it in place of my old HDD! Works great and I get more space!

I bought this product with the hope that it live up to the hype, but no. It doesn't. I trust the brand mainly because of its stability since I already owned a WD internal hard drive. So its a good investment when you consider stability and longevity.

When it comes to data transfer rate, it scores a meagre 5.9 out of 7.9 on the windows experience index. There is no SATA cable with the hard drive, so you'll have to purchase one before you can use this. Other than these cons there are no other complaints.

I haven't used seagate, so can't give a comparison there. Make sure you do comparisons on various brands and then purchase after reading professional reviews. Ultimately, the decision is left to you.
