The HDD comes with the WD SmartWare Pro software that automatically backs up your data in the background without slowing down your system or the device itself. With the automatic continuous backup option, you can create a second copy of your files and the scheduled backup feature allows you to choose the time you want to backup the data. You can backup your files to either the My Book drive or to cloud storage - all features work towards giving you complete control of your data.
The device also comes with Acronis True Image WD Edition that is an integrated suite for the security of your data which backs up complete partitions or entire disk drive according to your requirement.
With WD Security, you can password protect all the data and encrypt hardware to prevent snooping.
A Windows 8 app has been created for WD to ensure that media is easily located and displayed without having to navigate through several menus. It supports Windows XP, Vista and 7 while also being compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.5 or later versions.

Exceptional Drive :D
i was supposed to get the drive on 14th but i got it on 9th wen i had ordered it on 5th. I took the COD option and it was good enough. Packaging is excellent and was filled wid bubble wraps :P
Now as for the drive :
Since i needed a 2tb drive i had two choices out of internal vs external.I went with external as it was nearly same as the internal one and i can take the drive to my frnz's home...

faced a small problem initially, as there was a slight dent problem and the cord was not fitting in the hdd. I got worried initially but after pushing it successfully manually fixed the small metal piece in place and is working like a charm. Perhaps it was because of the travel or maybe during making, not clear so just be careful and check everything if it's fine ...
