Very compact and speedy harddrive, Super Satisfied
A very good hard drive, USB 3.0 compatible, with transfer speeds of up to 80 mbps (if using a USB 3.0 compatible computer).
The size is extremely small, as the name suggests, the size of a 'passport'. Very portable, able to fit in a jeans pocket easily.
Haven't made use of the WD provided software, but it has excellent plug-and-play compatibility with Windows XP, Vista and 7.
For those of you wondering, the spin rate is 5400rpm.

Stunning HDD; Unpractical/Useless Backup Software
The HDD is perfect. It is actually a size of a passport (I measured it),compact & USB 3.0.
I have been using it for couple of months and I am very happy.
The only problem is the backup software they provide with this. It is WD's own backup software.
The major problem is,you cannot select the folders you want to backup.There selection criteria is based up the type of content eg. video ,audio,Documents etc. So if i want to take a backup of specific folders of my choice only, I cannot do it. I ...

I have been using WD 1TB since August 2011, and I must say that this is really excellent product of WD. I have used Both Seagate Expansion and Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 1TB, and after comparing WD with Seagate I have arrived at a conclusion that "WD is THE BEST". Why? Here is a brief explanation:

Great!
This external Hard disk is great and works so fine. No noise, very very little heating (you wont feel it much). If you dont like it to do backup of its own, just ignore the installation process of "Western Digital Smartware" and thats it. Your device will work as a magnificient plug and play pen drive..
Really cool product and got it delivered less than 24 hrs.. These guys really know about customer satisfaction :-)

Very nice.....
I am using it since Sep, 2011. And its working very nice. One of the important thing about it that its USB 3.0, which is fast enough. I bought it when it was of price around 4.7K. Now it is so much costly but still cheapest on Flipkart. And I am waiting for the 2TB of it.

Great Service....Faulty product!
I ordered on Flipkart for the first time and I must say that I am super impressed with the website...user friendly with pretty good collection and great service!
However, the WD Hard disk that I ordered seems to be faulty. After formatting it for my mac, it keeps loosing power from the laptop. At times the HD works for a few mins and at times it powers off within a minute!
I have informed Flipkart about the same and they have indicated that they will replace it. I am hoping to get the replace...

Bought it for 6922 on March 06-2012, so far no major issues.. excellent product WD

* Working flawless in Windows 7, Ubuntu Fedora & Mint (Linux User's.. Cheers :)

Best if you can afford it since there is no chance of decreasing price of any hard disks atleast by an year it was my best buy from flipkart.
Great service by flipkart and awesome packing bought this product few days back and its working good.
Sleek hard disk in black near about 3" in size and 1.5" thick.
For me its copying speed is maximum 45mbps (depends on processor speed) as i forgot to format it when i recieved the product using it like that for a while.Completely satisfied with flipka...
