Excellent Product. Very Compact!! And usb 3.0 is fast!!

A note on the decreased amount of space people are complaining about. This is a non issue people since manufactures advertise their product capacity in terms of SI units and what we see on the computer is the actual/ "binary" unit.
Its due to differences in how a TB is classified.

1TB = 1,000,000,000,000B

931.32*1024*1024*1024 = 1,000,000,000,000B

HDD makers measure storage in decimal, Windows does it in binary.

Please keep this in mind while purchasing other external storage solutions too. For eg a 16 gb pendrive is actually 14.9 gb . Do the math yourself for this :D

USB 2.0 hi-speed offers a link speed of 60MBps (megabytes per second not megabits per second) while USB 3.0 super-speed establishes a link speed of around 625 MBps......hence the faster speed of USB 3.0 devices.
actual transfer speeds depend not only upon the link speed of the interface (USB 2.0 or USB 3.0) but also upon the speed of the actual small hard disk sitting inside the plastic casing.
so usually a USB 2.0 hdd will offer write and read speeds close to 30MBps. A USB 3.0 hdd, in contrast, is supposed to offer read speeds close to 90 MBps and write speeds close to 60 MBps but only if plugged into a USB 3.0 port which is available in new computers. In old computers which only have USB 2.0 ports, it gives speeds very similar to USB 2.0 hard disks. It's because USB 3.0 interface is backward compatible with USB 2.0 interface, that is, when a USB 3.0 supporting device is plugged into old good USB 2.0 port it automatically makes a link of 60MBps and works totally like USB 2.0 device.

A very good hard drive, USB 3.0 compatible, with transfer speeds of up to 80 mbps (if using a USB 3.0 compatible computer).

The size is extremely small, as the name suggests, the size of a 'passport'. Very portable, able to fit in a jeans pocket easily.

Haven't made use of the WD provided software, but it has excellent plug-and-play compatibility with Windows XP, Vista and 7.

For those of you wondering, the spin rate is 5400rpm.

The only downside, is that the micro USB 3.0 socket is a different shape than micro USB 2.0 so if you lose the original wire, it's going to be very difficult to replace.

Very satisfied with Flipkart service, the product packaging was excellent, properly protected the hard-drive, and delivery was prompt. Received my order within 2 days.

Reg the disk, this is an excellent drive and highly recommended to anyone looking for a 1TB in 2.5 form factor now. It's both USB 2.0 and 3.0, so will work for you in near future also.
