Very compact and speedy harddrive, Super Satisfied
A very good hard drive, USB 3.0 compatible, with transfer speeds of up to 80 mbps (if using a USB 3.0 compatible computer).
The size is extremely small, as the name suggests, the size of a 'passport'. Very portable, able to fit in a jeans pocket easily.
Haven't made use of the WD provided software, but it has excellent plug-and-play compatibility with Windows XP, Vista and 7.

Stunning HDD; Unpractical/Useless Backup Software
The HDD is perfect. It is actually a size of a passport (I measured it),compact & USB 3.0.
I have been using it for couple of months and I am very happy.
The only problem is the backup software they provide with this. It is WD's own backup software.
The major problem is,you cannot select the folders you want to backup.There selection criteria is based up the type of content eg. video ,audio,Documents etc. So if i want to take a backup of specific folders of my choice only, I cannot do it. I ...

I have been using WD 1TB since August 2011, and I must say that this is really excellent product of WD. I have used Both Seagate Expansion and Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 1TB, and after comparing WD with Seagate I have arrived at a conclusion that "WD is THE BEST". Why? Here is a brief explanation:

Great!
This external Hard disk is great and works so fine. No noise, very very little heating (you wont feel it much). If you dont like it to do backup of its own, just ignore the installation process of "Western Digital Smartware" and thats it. Your device will work as a magnificient plug and play pen drive..
Really cool product and got it delivered less than 24 hrs.. These guys really know about customer satisfaction :-)

Very nice.....
I am using it since Sep, 2011. And its working very nice. One of the important thing about it that its USB 3.0, which is fast enough. I bought it when it was of price around 4.7K. Now it is so much costly but still cheapest on Flipkart. And I am waiting for the 2TB of it.

Elegant, Compact, Fast but Fragile and Delicate
As the name suggest My Passport, you can definitely carry it around but as delicate as Passport you need to protect it well because of glossy surface, scratch marks become very evident.
There is much more to it Automatic Backup and Password Protection, password protection feature is nice but if you forget the password you lose your data forever. So be cautious.
