I have to replace Seagate 250gb in Dell Vostro 1015 laptop. I was confusing b/w WD 320gb and Seagate 320gb but I choose WD because of two years of warranty whether Seagate only gives 1 year of warranty. But I feared that WD has only service center in Bangalore so I have to send my item if fails to work. But I got the information from one of my friends that their customer care are very good and he got one WD HDD replaced. I convinced.
It is a "LPTV" so the height is only 6.99 mm but specification shows 9.5mm. So there is a little gap under it. I think that will good for airflow. Installed in 5 minutes. Formatted and partitioned by windows 7. Using around 1 month. No heating problem. Work silently.
Flipkart service is good. Good Packing. Ordered it inn"available" mode so delivered in 7 days in KOLKATA. I got atlest 250 rs(Rs. 3392) cheap than in Kolkata.

works exactly as it should
Bought something for the first time for flipkart... delivered the next day it was ordered... was totally impressed by shock proof packing by flipkart. So, excellent service by flipkart...
Needed the hard drive to replace it on my Dell Inspiron 1525.. this wd hdd was a bit slimmer than the stock one...(in the specs, it is mentioned to be 9.5 mm, but actually, its 7.6 mm) so had to reseat it 3-4 times to fit it in place.
The performance is not surprisingly good, but it works as it should.. delivers what can be expected from a hdd, and is usually very quite during operation bt occassionally produces sound like the other hard drives produce all the time... (atleast my older hdd did make sound)
copying and pasting is fast...
Windows Experience Index score 5.9, which is maximum for hard disk, as higher scores than this can achieved only by SSD...

I was not particularly pleased with the packaging on this one.I order regularly from Flipkart and they have always done a fab job as far as the packaging front is concerned.But the HDD worked in spite of my apprehensions,so it's all good.
First thing anyone who's purchased a WDD drive needs to do is read the instructions on the drive label.That is a drive life-saver if you plan to clean install XP on the drive.Then log on to wdc.com and register for warranty.XP users must download Acronis and realign their partition(s.Use Disk Defragmenter regularly.Download and run other WDC software like Lifeguard Diagnostics.All the best!

Flipkart delivered the product on time and the packaging was perfect.
Considering that this was a Hard disk, Flipkart took care in packing it.
Its been more than a month I'm using this on my laptop and I haven't had a single issue.... Western Digital Rocks....I initially had plans of buying a Seagate but then most of friends working in Data-centers and IT professional told me to go for a WD Harddisk.. They have less failure rate is what I heard.

Affordable and efficient
My laptop's earlier harddrive had crashed and i needed a good replacement.
I choose wd drive because they are giving 2 years guarantee compared to 1 year offered by other manufactur
the disk was instantly recognised by my system and every thing is working fine right now.
Read right speed are good comparing my old drive and overall i m satisfied with the purchase.
