We Were The Melwoods: Memories Of Growing Up In Brooklyn

We Were the Melwoods is a true story about a group of guys growing up in Brooklyn during the 1950s. The story starts in September 1943, when six of them are enrolled in kindergarten at St. Joes. As the years go by, the group grows, and with the addition of new members takes on a life of its own. Brought together by their ages, the neighborhood, and their desire to belong to a group, the Melwoods are born. The fact that this happened is not too surprising, as many groups were formed in the same manner. What is amazing is that sixty years after that first day of school, the Melwoods are still together, bonded by friendships that still prevail.
