Summary of the Book

Cheryl embarked upon a self-discovery journey after she realized there was nothing much left for her to lose in life. Her mother had passed away due to cancer, her marriage had become a failure and her family was disbanded. It was then that she made an impulsive decision of walking and hiking the eleven hundred miles of America’s west coast, alone. She started from the Mojave Desert, through the beautiful Oregon and California, and finally ended the journey in Washington. This book brings out the stories that Cheryl lived during her journey, while on the trail. A film adaptation of Wild is to be released on the 5th of December, 2014, with Reese Witherspoon playing Strayed.
