Sethu 2007's Sahitya Akademi Award-winner for his novel Adayalangal, has been on the Malayalam literary scene for more than four decades. He has won almost all the major awards of Kerala and many of his works have been translated into other Indian languages. The recent avant-grade Bengali firm Nirakar Chhaya is based on his acclaimed novel Pandavapuram. The Wind from the Hills, translated from the Malayalam original Niyogam, has been described as the logical progression from Pandavapuram, covering the distance between the soul and the body.
