The Winds Of Change

Sarah comes from a close-knit family from a northern mining community; she is a responsible girl and seems set for a steady future. But when she decides to go away to London "in service," as a parlour maid to Lord and Lady Chandler, little does she know that the winds of change are about to blow a gale through her quiet life, and that nothing will be the same again... Her much-loved brother Edmund dies suddenly, and the family is torn by grief; then, Sarah falls for Edward, the handsome valet to a neighbouring family. Yet - all is not as it seems. What is the connection between Lord Chandler and her own family, seemingly so different in station? And is Edward's professed love for her all that it seems? Troubles and the storms of life do indeed blow about Sarah's head; but she manages to get through many trials and tribulations and emerges at the end, stronger and wiser for her experiences, and as we say farewell to Sarah we know that she will indeed overcome... the winds of change.
