Summary Of The Book

Women And The Weight Loss Tamasha is the sequel to the author’s previous weight loss book entitled Don’t Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight, and is directed towards women only. Through the course of this book, Diwekar begins to throw light on the different stages in the life of a woman, and how they impact her life. In her previous book, Diwekar explained that eating the right kind of food is essential for controlling excess weight gain. However, in this book, she tells the readers that there are four principles for women to remain fit and healthy.

These principles include Sleep, Relationships, Nutrition, and Exercise. In this book, Diwekar writes about the life of Indian women, from puberty, right till the time she gets married, along with the stress of handling everything at home. Through the course of this book, she also provides answers to a number of questions, as to whether hormonal problems result in weight issues, or whether stressful schedules cause lifestyle disorders. The author answers the above-mentioned questions, and much more, by providing concrete scientific proof to back her statements.

All in all, this book, Women And The Weight Loss Tamasha provides Indian women with all the info they need to begin their weight loss plan, and achieve the success they always craved for, making it a must-have. The foreword of the book is written by the famous Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor.

About Rujuta Diwekar

Rujuta Diwekar is a well-known celebrity nutritionist from India. Apart from this book, Diwekar has written another book titled Don’t Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight.

Diwekar holds a postgraduate degree from SNDT College, Mumbai, in Sports Science And Nutrition. She also completed a course in Sports Nutrition from Australia Institute Of Sports, Canberra, in the year 2010. Through the course of her decade-long career as a fitness consultant, she has worked with clients from all walks of life, such as students, celebrities, homemakers, sportsmen, and businessmen. Some of Diwekar’s famous clients include Konkona Sen Sharma, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Kareena Kapoor, and Anil Ambani. The Asian Institute Of Gastroenterology (AIG) presented Diwekar with the highly-esteemed Nutrition Award. In the year 2012, Diwekar was also listed among the 50 most powerful people in India by People. Diwekar is married to Gaurav Punj, and she currently resides in Mumbai. She has sold over 5 lakh books which have also been translated into over 4 languages.

I am not one to write reviews...Mostly I read them before buying but I am compelled to share my review on Rujuta's book.
Kareena's Size zero achievment made me curious to buy this book.
Rujuta writes a lot of things about a lot of things - How women fail to prioritse themselves, they are great mothers, sisters, whatever and forget themselves - Well thats true of every country not just India...Everyone would want whats best for their family ...so whats new about it and what is this unique discovery doing in a weight loss book.

Rujuta thinks weight loss should not be measured, calories should not be counted...Thats great for some people but what about people who get motivated by setting themselves a goal and inching slowly to that goal...
Now here is the best part..Rujuta expects us to all go out of town to buy our veggies and fruit fresh out of a farm and if thats too difficult, then voila...get some people together ...buy some land and start farming....What an Idea...
Maybe Rujuta meets people who go around buying plots of land to ensure they get the freshest of vegetables but for people like us who are working hard to make a living, have a healthy family and stay fit....I am not sure how I could fit buying a plot of land into my plans and goals.
Some Hindi, some Delhi Slang, some Mumbaiya language and some Marathi put together makes for some cool and hip dialogue by the author.....
What I would have appreciated much more is some common sense and tips to stay healthy...Save your money and go buy a better book...Kalli Purie is better anyday !!!

Rituja's book says all the right things about weight loss and also addresses many commonly misplaced notions about weight loss. It also gives some useful information about common health issues faced by women like PCOD, low/high thyroid etc. Some of the real life conversations she's had with her clients are hilarious.

Negatives?? Well the book can get a bit preachy and we all know its easier said than done to lose weight. She actually asks people to grow vegetables on a farm or buy from outside MUmbai which can be quite impractical for the average working woman!!Also though it looked very c...

This book emphasizes on women to take care of themselves as a whole for themselves and not to please XYZ. The language used makes me feel as is she is personally speaking and is my best friend who is not getting mad or agitated and is flexible and adorable. This book should be read by men who love their women and want to take of them in the best possible way. This books openly speaks about how women should appreciate her body and love it and we have never been taught to do that be it our family, friends, BF, husbands, teachers, co-workers..
