Book: The World Outside The Closet Door Francis McKings, an aspiring writer, gets the idea to interview a patient at a local asylum to write his new book. While visiting the hospital grounds, Francis finds that most of the patients are uninteresting to write about. He finds that they are pitiful and sees them more as misguided children rather than cold-blooded maniacs. It is not until he meets Victor Rousseau, a famed serial killer in that area, that he is satisfied. Rousseau is anything but pitiful in Francis' eyes. To his own shock, Francis even admires Rousseau and decides to interview him in order to write a book about his life. During their interviews, Francis starts to sympathize with Rousseau and sees that perhaps it is society, rather than Rousseau, to blame for Rousseau's atrocious acts. Francis will uncover that, in some shape or form, all of Rousseau's victims were nothing more than overbearing people who strived to hurt Rousseau because of a past that ruined his life.
