Brilliant refresh of the most iconic PC game
XCOM Enemy Unknown presents a fresh take on a legendary franchise. It does not move away much from the basic paradigms of the game but offers a much more simplified approach to it. This simplification never seems to dumb down the game, instead it makes you focus more on the strategic aspects of gameplay. Fresh graphics and sound are an added bonus.
The Pre-order package included the Elite soldier pack DLC and a great looking poster. DVDs don't come in a jewel case though. Considering the same game sells for three times the price online it is very good purchase.
Pros: STEAM! Your game and game data is safe from faulty DVDs or lost saves. Fresh take on a brilliant series turns out to be equally amazing.
Cons: STEAM! Some may not like the steam activation and the fact that you have to be logged into steam to play online. Offline play is possible though. No jewel case for DVDs.
PS: Flipkart gives you steam keys for both the game and the preorder DLC. I installed only using steam and the process worked out fine. Very fast shipping and good packaging by flipkart.

Gripping, intelligent and engaging game!!!
This game does not have the kind of graphics that we see in other advanced games that have Frostbite 2 technology, but the graphics ain't that bad.The best part about this game is its ability to absorb the player right into it.My initial demo run itself got me playing for almost 4 hrs continuously. The game play involves a good amount of strategy, squad management,research and many other areas still unexplored. If any of you have played dragon age origin and loved it like I did, this game is very similar in game play. Third person view and cut scenes play when appropriate. Its been rated high on many game review channels like IGN and Gamespot. I would definitely recommend this one. Be sure to first ensure that the game runs smoothly on your comp. Visit Can you run it website via Google and select the game. It will do a real time scan of your comp and tell you if the game can play on minimum or full graphics....

Great Game ... Finally
After numerous gaming sessions with different games now here is the winner...
This is a brilliant game...a great tactical game where player has to take care of his/her base, take care of the funding, new facilities, panic level of different countries and finally management of a small squad of veteran in the field operations. With easy or normal difficulty the game seems to be easy. To get a real challenge take the hard difficulty level. You will play the game from bird's eye view and with proper tactical strength only, you can get excellent rating.
The more deeper you will go, levels will become harder. You will have to think of different choices and take care of almost everything...

Compelling turn based strategy
The original xcom is one of the most iconic and fondly remembered game on the PC. Firaxis have executed this re-imagining brilliantly, and made a classic in it's own right. Even if you don't like turn based strategy, get this game and you'll be converted.
