Book: A Year In The Life Of Bulimia
A Year in the Life of Bulimia is basically an account of the past year of my life. In it, you will see brutal honesty, anger, confusion, insight, and naivety. I analyze how the personalities of my mom, dad, and sister, and my relationship with them, have influenced me. The entries about binge-purge episodes seem just as surreal to me as they might to you -- a scary fact because it proves how little control I had over my eating and my life. Yet, as the girl in this manuscript, I believed I was in complete control, and that wasting away was the perfect solution to everything. The whole story of the devastation and duration that characterizes many eating disorder cases is not present in this book because I decided to reach back out to life before it was too late. Sadly, eating disorders do typically tend to get worse -- much, much worse. But the crazy thoughts that were generated from my starving mind were horrifying, nonetheless. Recovery was not easy, but it was possible with a strong and pure will to move on.
