YES PMP-100HD 8 GB MP4 Player

The player is an excellent product even though not from a well known company. The screen is the biggest plus point as you can't find any other PMP with a WVGA(800*480 ,not mentioned anywhere in specs, even in the official page but mentioned on the box) screen for 5000bucks.

The player handles almost all video formats though FLV & WMV doesnt play even if mentioned. All other common formats like AVI, MKV & MP4 are covered though the player skips frames drastically at 720p for some formats, so I doubt the statement of a review below which suggests that it does 1080p fine. Not even the official product page or documentation ever mentions 1080p though playback upto 720p is mentioned. Watching movies on the WVGA screen is a glory as being from a practically unknown company which has only 4 service centres in India( Yeah..FOUR!! Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore & Chennai. Beware warranty freaks!), the screen surprisingly has decent colour, contrast and viewing angles.

The speaker is the weakest part as volume is almost non-existant even at full volume. So buy a small set of rechargeable mini speakers for people who wish to share the experience.

Audio quality is so so. Anyways my main intention was for watching movies, so it doesnt matter to me much. Bundled headphones are of crappy quality as the usual PMP norm goes. Buying a decent pair of headphones can spice things up a bit and the headphone amp is pretty loud too. But still, I'd recommend audiophiles to stay away as there isnt even a customizable EQ apart from the presets (which suck by the way).

There are lots of goodies in the box which are not mentioned anywhere. This includes a carrying pouch, HDMI cable, USB OTG cable, Component RGB cable and the standard data cable and bundled earphones. I even got a free pink Genius over-the-ear headphones as part of a valentines day offer, all at Rs.5000.

The player is quite heavy and tends to slip off small hands and the screen again is the biggest weak point as far as design aspect goes as the screen is made of a polycarbonate or plastic material which looks to be prone to scratches and the worst part is that the screen protrudes outside. So a fall may mean the end of your entertainment. Remember the lack of service centres here. I tried a 32GB card on it and it read fine. Didnt try writing to it though. When I tried writing to a 4GB card, the device tends to get disconnected from the PC and the file operation fails. I have to try writing to the 32GB card and come into a conclusion.

The UI is very basic with a dock bar with icons for Video, Music, EBook, Photos and Games. The only theming element is changing wallpapers (BG) The device supports USB OTG and read one of my 4GB pendrives fine.

The remote is a must for using this device as the screen is not a touchscreen (for 5000bucks, well you cant ask for more) and using the hardware buttons on the device to control the UI is quite tiresome considering the size of the device and placement of buttons. So, always keep that remote handy though you will definitely look wierd holding that remote to the screen while commuting or in a restaurant for example. Please keep the remote safe as it is the only option for easy use of this device.

The device features a component HDTV out and HDMI which I havent tried yet.

The only ebook format supported is TXT and would have been great if epub and PDF would have worked as well. But anyways no complaints here as it does everything else well.

Battery life though not fully tested would approximately last for 2 hollywood movies. i.e approx 4hrs of SD video.

Audio playback would last even more though I haven't fully tested.

To conclude, my main requirement was a PMP which would play movies decently and handle almost all video formats with ease without conversion and this does it pretty decently @ 5000bucks. I also looked at the Zebronics Cinema 3.0+ and Cinema 4.3 before buying this as Zebronics is a better known brand but the WVGA screen this player sports won over the lower resolution Zenronics Cinema 4.3 which even almost costs as much as this player.

So overall, I'm pretty impressed with the value for money this device offers.

My advice for prospective buyers would be to invest in a good pair of headphones/Portable speakers, a decent microSD card and most of all, A good SCREEN GUARD to keep that beautiful screen shining like new providing you with the best picture percievable by your eyes.

I bought this for my sister as a b'day gift and the happiness on her face was priceless!

A great Media Player for this Price!! Plays almost any format with ease like mp4 , 3gp , mov , dat , avi , mkv etc .
.avi is a breeze for it and can play it in any resolution , even in 1080p , though mkv is a bit trouble but with the correct conversion its a good deal!! There is also USB on-the-go support , so you can connect pendrive and other mass storage devices..In the box you even get the on-the-go cable , hdmi cable and tv out cable which is not stated in the product details. Sound quality of external speaker is ok but the earphones are superb!! The screen is awesome and its viewing angle is also great!

So I would recommend this player above any other for this range if HD movies are your requirment!!

It's Sound Is Very Low.
So You Have Very Quite Area For Listen Your Favorite songs.

All Over this player is good for portability.
its supports 720p videos.
e book like .txt formate.
photos
mp3 files.

battery is so good.you can see films atlist 4.5 hours.
