YONGNUO RC-6 Camera Remote Control

A week back i have placed this order and got this on 3/17 afternoon. Packed well but the package from the Yongnou is not completely sealed . it could be because this was very old stock. no manul or guide, but that wasn't a major issue though but you have to understang the switch and battery compartment.

I was so happy that i got the remote and tried to operate but in vain it didn't work. tried multiple combinations of dot and 2 swtich... but not much luck... then i called up the support analyst, and he informed it could be that the battery might have drained and he wanted me to change the battery and suggested it won't cost much, may be 50-60 rs, please replace and try and if it still doesn't work, then he asked me to call for further help.

I'm little upset with his suggestion, why would i go and have to buy a battery for the brand new which is supposed to be delivered in good working condition. But after i replaced the battery it worked like a charm...

dot means immediate shutter release and 2 means after 2 sec... also to remove the battery you have to hold the 1 to the right side and pull the 2... this is all you need to understand about this remote... all the best for those who going to order...

It arrived promptly and was packed securely. There was no documentation, but I was not expecting any. The product works as advertised and is perhaps too small (you may lose it easily). The item has a switch (on/off) but only by trial and error I could make out which is on and which is off (the depressed dot is off). I have not checked the range but I hope the range will be at least as good as the flash range.

I felt the item is bit expensive.

I was little doubtful about this product as it doesn't look original Canon. Yongnuo RC-6 remote comes at discounted price and there is no difference at all.
I received this remote in bubble wrap pack, which further had a card box in which remote was there. Battery was not used as there was piece of plastic separating the battery from contact point. By Pulling that out remote started working.

I tried that on Canon 550D & it worked very well. One thing I noticed that IR sensor on camera is on front side. Remote is very good when you are trying to take self portrait.
In my case I am going to use this remote mostly to avoid shaking of camera which you encounter while pressing the button. In most of the cases I will be holding remote behind the camera. I found IR works well from behind the camera with a trick. I could use this remote behind the camera, by not pointing to camera but to wall or glass which will transmit signal back to camera on front side.

Just got it delivered. No documentaion but doesn't need any, it has just 1 button for shutter release (Immediate/2Sec) and the 1-2 switch for pulling out the battery. Product is exactly the same size as in the picture(on the specifications page...above this review), looks big in picture but is very small and cute. People talked about on/off button, It does not exist. I tried bulb mode with it, starts with 1st click and ends with 2nd.

only 1 disadvantage, range is not good. But overall a fine product. And of course before time and prompt delivery by Flipkart.

I am a basic (beginner) in the world of photography. I had bought my DSLR and was very keen to get a REMOTE. As usual, I turned to my favorite seller FLIPKART. I saw this and ordered it.

I just received it as per schedule, nicely packaged and a great product. Also, I bought the SIMPEX TRIPOD from FLIPKART. What a combination. I now feel the pleasure of having my DSLR, tripod and the wireless remote. I just need to get out of my house and start shooting nice pictures.
