Zebronics ZEB - 3100 HMV Headset

The build quality is good for a sub Rs 500 headphone. This Headphone has good build quality looks cool, fits perfectly on ears can be adjusted different head sizes, the connectors also good they are plated. The cord is long & flexible so it wont break or cut easily. The mic is flexible and can be adjusted easily, it doesn't come directly in front of your mouth so its hassle free. I love the Black & Red combination.

Performance (4/5) -

The performance of the headphone is above average (considering its a Sub Rs. 500 headphone) its a super bass headphone so the vocals get overshadowed by bass. The bass is really superb, its like having a mini sub woofer in your headphone. The mic also works nicely.

The Verdict-

This headphone is a must buy for people who love BASS and are on a tight budget, it also has a mic so its a value for money headphone.

talking about the Zebronics 3100 HMV, its the cheapest headphone on flipkart comparing it to its quality and sound. Iam a hardcore Counter Strike gamer and believe me now i can hear enemies footsteps very clearly. and mic is excellent, works like charm while chatting and communicating on skype and gtalk. i was confused about its mini-audio output jack. but when i got it, its 3.5mm JACK. wow, now i can even listen songs on my IPOD, MP3
player and mobile phone. and believe me i didnt knew my mobile had a such good sound unless i got to test it with this headphone.

so guys go for it if you need one for Counter Strike, don't know about other games. and yes, Thanks flipkart again, you rock.

I bought this for my girl for listening to music and movies.

Tried it with different genres of music and it gave fair output and results considering it's cost. Never judge a headsets or speakers by listening to only one (kind of) song/genre. I tried instrumental, bass, heavy metal, classic, hip hop & country. Results were fair enough.

Of course, it wouldn't be prudent and rational to expect Sennheiser-worth-5 grand-like quality from a Zebronics which is 10 x cheaper. What you pay is what you get.

I also own Zeb 1000 HMV and it's good too. Zeb 3100 HMV is more comfortable and stylish and fits comfortably on your ears and has a elegant, stylish mic as opposed to 1000 HMV which hurts your ears whilst prolonged use and has 'spring-wired' mic.

1000 HMV sounded more clearer to me, whereas, 3100 HMV was louder. It is new and will soon open up and provide more clarity.

Pros -
1. Economical
2. Looks good and muscular (Better than what the picture depicts)
3. Louder (Voice will always distort at such a price range no matter which brand you choose). Till 100% in VLC with full OS volume it didn't distort much.
4. Mic - Study and stylish. Little far from your mouth but shouldn't cause a problem.

Cons -
1. Mic - May/may not be a disadvantage. It's shorter and little far from your mouth. But it's microphone. You don't really have to speak into your mic directly. Distance of some odd inches need to be there otherwise your breath would easily be audible.

I bought this headset 1 week ago. Sound quality is good. I have a more good feel of the music with this one than a headset from Sony (DR-ZX102DPV/B) I previously used. I had to leave my Sony headset designed for laptop as its right speaker stopped to work, might be because of a invisible breakage in the wire. I lost all the 1200 bucks I spent on that, this way. This headset is safe from that kind of problem as it has a more strong wire all the way from pin to speakers.
Sound quality is very much OK as far as bass is concerned, but a bit poor for treble. But much appreciable for a headset of the price 400rs.(Just 1/3rd of the price of the Sony I bought, which gave the same performance).
But I observed the problem of buzzing noise when the mike jack got connected to its port.But can be avoided by removing it from its port when mike is not getting used. But problem is a problem and is not supposed to be there. Its a drawback but not a serious one.
As a whole I was satisfied with this one (Unlike the case with Sony, I can buy another headset much comfortably if this one gave any problem, as it is much cheaper). I suggest people to go for it. Each penny is valued in this one.

NEVER judge a book by it's cover or a headset by your first experience!

I ordered this headset as I was low on cash and saw ravings reviews on FK. But my first reaction as disappointment when I tried the headset on. I felt conned. BUT the sound greatly improved once I made sure a few of my Realtek driver settings were right. After a week of using this headset I have come to like it a lot more than the other headset I have mentioned below.

I have owned a Sennheiser PMX 60 and let me compared a INR 1000 headset from a big brand with this INR 391 headset from Zebronics.

pmx 60 has a more open sound while hmv 3100 is a bit more muffled. THAT's the only advantage the Sennheiser has over the Zebronics!

HMV has a cushion padding that reduces the leakage of sound inwards and outwards (above average) which PMX lacks. The base is above average as well considering the price of HMV.

The looks of HMV as decent though not out of this world and as someone else has mentioned the mic is too soft for my liking but it's bearable.

If you want a better quality you SHOULD spend more on a bigger brand that is proven to be value for money, otherwise go with this!
