Cheers!

Mr Vivek Pandit, needs no introduction… With By Mistake he adorned the writer's hat and with 21 New Beginning, he adds a feather to it. The very first story, Jasmine, will remain with me for a long time to come…Bohemia…the green-eyed one. The more I write about Suit No.308 will be less. Northern Light brightens me up every time I think of it. The Piano, struck a chord somewhere. deep down. The Nook, reminded me of my bestest friend, we all have that one special friend we can give life for!! T...

Quintessential

Book Review: 21 New Beginnings

‘True stories of oddity, hope and change’, says the blurb on the cover of Viveik Pandit’s collection of short stories 21 New Beginnings with 21 stories by the author and 23 stories by ‘closet writers’ as Pandit calls them.

Writing a short story volume after a debut novel, By Mistake, is a more difficult task because short stories have a sharpness, a pointedness that is lacking in a novel. For in quintessence lies the essence of the short story and it is her...

Kudos!

Dear Mr Pandit. .
Firstly, Kudos for putting together such a wonderfully woven work! Secondly, it is such a pleasure to read stories that actually have a touch of reality in them instead of the regular ideal works that are syrup sweet. . Today, I read quite a few stories from 'New Beginnings'. . And to pick a few favorites of mine. . 'Rain, Sanity and the Blue Umbrella', 'The Last Princess' and 'Thrice Lucky'. Reading 'em have been quite an experience. . After a very long time an Indian Auth...

Imposing !

Viveik Sir has the mettle to make it big in the domain of literature. The stories do have an open ending and somewhere they end up abruptly leaving the engrossed readers in a state of uncertainty, yet if one actually looks inside the depth of creativity exhaled by the writer, one may easily end up with the fact that he is an unconventional writer. He has charisma in his stories, where the admirers of literature gets a dose of respite and smile and sometimes a state of awe and deep thinking.

AUTHOR STORIES CONFUSES

I ORDERED 21 NEW BEGINNINGS TWO DAYS BACK , AFTER READING THE REVIEWS I FELT THIS WILL BE SOMETHING VERY INTERESTING AND OUT OF SHELF ,BUT SORRY TO SAY THE STORIES WRITTEN BY THE AUTHOR 21 NEW BEGINNINGS WERE TOTAL CONFUSING AND LEAD NO WHERE ,THE STRANDS OF STORY ARE NOT BINDED TOGETHER AND YOU FEEL LEFT OUT AT THE END OF THE STORY WONDERING WHAT THE STORY WANTED TO TELL AND AS IF THE AUTHOR IS IN SOME KIND OF HURRY, BUT THE ROOKIE AUTHORS WERE BETTER THAN THE MAIN AUTHOR ITSELF, SOME OF THE...

must read

As a female 19 yr old, I felt extremely inspired reading the book. In a society where women are always considered 'the weaker sex' and definitely looked down upon..the courageous and audacious stories listed in the book fill me with a pride and teach me to appreciate being who I am. A must read for all the women out there and men too, so that they learn to appreciate and improve their mindset about women.

The Unaquainted Moment of Exorcism

I ordered 21 New Beginnings: True Stories of Oddity, Hope & Change not expecting much other than some short stories on life and new beginnings. I was blown away in particular with author Rachna Kapoor's short story 'The Unaquainted Moment of Exorcism'. Looking forward to her next book/novella. All the best Rachna!

Odd for sure

Descriptive writing. Stories leave an indelible mark, especially, Jasmine, The Nook, Bohemia and The rain and the Blue Umbrella make for a fantastic read. The writer is completely at ease with his expressions.
