    Repent buying this

I love to read books regarding Indian Classical Music and so thought of buying this. But this stands to be the worst book I ever read. Behind the pomp and show, I sense it to be a personal memoir rather than anything worthwhile about the maestros. Before buying, I thought that the CD would contain all 50 recordings but I was disheartened to know that it had only 8 tracks. Naming only fifty of them would be an injustice to our music which has produced innumerable geniuses and it depends on per...

Mini Encyclopedia of Indian Classical Music

The books stands as per the expectation enthused by the title. Good work to refer for Indian Classical legends. But it was the EXCLUSION of Audio CD that comes coupled with it soured the taste.

    Maestro Master

Book is short with adequate info on recordings and a nice CD having some of the recordings. It would have been better if CD had included all of the recordings, even in parts instead of only 27 full recordings. In end, a pioneering effort.

Worth the money, but some of the greatest artists are still missing.

I was expecting some sort of technical writing from the duo, but it hardly was a writing. The recordings mentioned in the book; I had been blessed enough to have listened to most of those recordings prior to buying the book. All in all, a good compilation, but some of the greatest artists are still missing from that list. Should have cared about that.

The Audio CD is worth it.
