    60minutes

If I had not been asked to write a review of this book, I would not have continued reading more than the first chapter of this book but apart from a review, I was asked to write 15 best lines ( according to me) from the book so it was a forceful read. A glitzy occupation, status, relationships and marriages are at stake in this story. The book has no story at all.

    60 Minutes: Book Review

60 minutes starts off at 2.30 pm, exactly 60 minutes before the product launch and the story unfolds in the next sixty minutes. There are three main characters (Agastya, Sailesh and Maithali) and the story-line revolves around the lives of the three. Agastya is arrogant and ambitious, while his adversary Sailesh is calculative. There is animosity between the two. Maithili is Agastya’s ex and is adamant on seeking revenge from him for breaking her trust. There are way too many unwanted charac...

If you are in a FMCG corporate you will love it

I loved the book because I find myself in a similar situation in the FMCG corporate world. Pressures of product launch, blows by competition prior to the launch, crisis management - isn't that what you do at work too. I totally related with the story. If you are aware of the current FMCG world then you realize its Unilever and P&G fighting it out!

Now if you thought that the entire plot spans around 60 minutes then it’s not what you get. It switches on and off between flash back and real ti...

Not as racy as it sounds!

Ever heard of so much happening in 60 minutes? Upendra’s experience in the field of sales and marketing comes to the fore when he talks about everything from corporate rivalry to boardroom discussions to corporate politics. Whether its people backbiting against each other or lust and love coming into the fore to get things done, Upendra has captured the drama that goes on in the floors of big corporate houses pretty well.

While half of the story happens in 60 minutes, for the other half, the...

    Worth every minute of reading

60 minutes is a corporate thriller- how 60 minutes before a major product launch a series of events depicting corporate rivalry, personal egoism and a lust to outsmart each other plays havoc.

Plot is well crafted and keeps readers hooked. Gives very useful insights into functioning of FMCG majors.

If you like corporate fictions, this book will not disappoint.

The Worst Book I Have Ever Read

Seriously!! When I saw the rating I was shocked. How can anyone like this book?

Fore mostly, the book is touted as a pacy thriller where every action unfolds within 60 minutes. Sadly that is not the truth because you are bombarded with all the past of characters extensively throughout the book. Even the present happens so slowly that you doze off before turning the page.

All the stock talks were beyond my understanding and that is the worst point because there is a lot of it and everythin...

    Meh

Upendra Namburi's '60 Minutes' is the second book of his triumvirate novels ('31' was his first).

The story revolves around relationships, twisted morals, a world full of scheming people and of course the corporate rat race to reach the top.

While I did like the 'quotes', (if I can call them that) before the beginning of each chapter, somehow the book did not seem to be a page turner for me. Everytime I put the book down, it took me quite a while to want to pick up the book again and finis...

Weak in every sense of the word.

High-profile jobs, reputations, relationships and marriages are at stake. Stealth, blackmail and secret liaisons exposed. Emotions mired in doubt and ambitions entangled in hostility. As the battle for supremacy continues, who will falter, who will persist and who will come out on top?

This is how 60 minutes markets itself. The blurb seemed interesting and racy and that is why I picked up this book. Read on to know more.

60 minutes revolves around the lives of three characters. Agastya, the...

Reads more like a corporate rant.

This 360 page saga revolves around Agastya, the flamboyant Chief Marketing Officer of a global FMCG giant, and his chequered relation with his ex colleague Sailesh Rao, who now heads the post of CMO in a rival firm. Adding drama and passion (read sex) to the plot is Maithili, Agastya's mistress of sorts, who keeps oscillating between two ambitions - either baying for Agastya's blood or lusting for his company in bed. There are several other characters too, almost always on the fringes, contri...

    Racy

60 Minutes by Upendra Namburi is a racy read. The events take place in a span of 60 minutes, taking you on a whirlwind of emotions. I would love to see it set as a Bollywood film. Relish the book.
