Argh.

As much as I hate giving bad reviews (especially to Indian authors), I really did not like the book.

The story was long, repetitive and boring at times. Each thing that happened was explained twice or thrice through different people's eyes. It was almost at a 100 pages that the first murder was declared a murder. Even the ending was explained a second time in full -- not that any of it need repetition, it was a pretty straight forward story. A decent plot, though easy to figure out and bad...

A very easy murder to solve

After a few pages, you really can guess the murderer. With the author trying to force fit the Tibetan stories, even the reason for the murders is somewhat obvious or atleast one can link them.
Also the printing of the book is bad. When there is a change in the narrative, there is no demarcation. I had to go back to the previous sentence to understand that the "scene" had changed.

Boring to death

Please don't buy this book if you are a mystery or thriller novel fan.
******************spoilers ahead***************************
When professor Shantanu Bose took charge of investigations, and liked Naresh very much….. la la la....the good guy turns out to be the villain in the end. The plot was outright predictable. The book had many many unwanted characters, many deaths and lousy cops etc. I was waiting for the book to end as I wanted to finish it. PLEASE don't waste money on this book.

Gripping Plot

I picked up this Novel a couple of weeks back due to the Dehradun setting where I had done my schooling. The nostalgia about the trees, rains and mountains drew me to the book. Also I have always been a fan of Agatha Christie mysteries, so I'm always on the lookout for murder mysteries.

I began this book with moderate expectations. But I was surprised at the way the story pulled me inside the plot from the word go. The multiple murders had me guessing about the identity of the killer till I ...

Terrific Suspense Thriller

At last I have come across a gripping murder mystery by an Indian writer!

From page one I was hooked and could not stop reading till the very end. The plot's twists and turns had me in a thrall. I kept on suspecting various people to be the murderer, but the ending was totally unexpected!

Great writing, simple language and fantastic story. A must read for all!!!

Good plot, slow at times, a few errors, still a good read

My Rating: 3.75/5

The author has structured a good plot here like the traditional murder mysteries. There are a few suspects that keep you guessing the culprit till the end. However, there are clues too which will make you zero down on one person.
Overall, its a traditional suspense thriller with a beautiful background of Dehradun. There are very few loopholes in the plot which I wish weren't there. The editors did a moderate job and left a few errors for the readers. And , the English is a...

Gripping. . .But. . .

I preordered this book but had time to read nw nly.. This book has the abiliity to complete in one go. . But with some faults.

1) It seems cops dont show any sort of interest to find anything when 4 Murders take place.
2)Finally you need to wait till author reveals everything bcos no effective hero in this story.
3)college seems to counsel students, manage press, keep academic schedule intact which is bizarre when murder after murder take place.
4)Routine investigation follows after every mur...
