Directed by Asghar Farhadi, ‘A Separation’ (2012) is a lovely movie to see and appreciate. It has a beautiful storyline and you are going to enjoy the film. This movie is full of suppressed volatility and surprise developments that are going to keep you enthralled and excited. It’s a masterpiece work that beautifully illustrates a situation that often exists between the members of the family. This story can represent the experience of any person who has become a parent, has got married, tells white lies just to maintain peace at home and tries to do the right things, but is impeded by the unavoidable circumstances.
It is through the hardship and misfortune of a broken family, that the director portrays the difficulties and complexities that the people encounter in Iran. This film beautifully illustrates the story of a middle class family in Iran, where we see that the wife wants to go abroad while the husband is not willing to go as his father is suffering from Alzheimer. However, the daughter is stuck in between the quarrel of the parents. There is a twist in the movie, the exploration of which should make you watch the movie with utmost interest.
It is a well-told story that will keep you captivated. You will be amazed at the intensity of the movie. Besides, the performance of the actors like Payman Maadi, Sareh Bayat and Leila Hatami is appreciable and outstanding. Leila has brilliantly carried out the role of Simin.
