Absolutely brilliant.

Every time i read something written by this man, it amazes me. I cannot think of any other Indian writer who writes in such simple a language , that u can just keep on reading without even bothering to look at the clock. Just like "why i supported the emergency" this book also talks about a lot of things ( with a bit of overlap ). It is just a joy to read what this man writes.
It tells about what a person like me likes to read.
-intolerance towards religious fascists
-agnostic, despite a thor...

Autobiographical & Humorous

The book reflects Khushwant Singh's approach to life - direct, witty and irreverent. He has covered many topics in less that 150 pages and sometimes I felt a little more needed to be said. Not sure whether he assumed his readers would know the details or whether he intentionally felt many things unsaid. It is a surely good read and presents political titbits in a completely new light! His proximity to the Nehru -Gandhi family and India's political scene since independence gives the author a p...

Speaking the True Self

Khushwant has spoken out his heart out in this book, which is of-course his forte. A books that would take you to his life, his childhood, life as a journalist, times during the partition, his opinions about others and his though about himself. Ironically, he expired the next day I ordered this book and read it the day after he expired. I would suggest this book to all the people who are a Khushwant Singh fan.

An Absolute Read If You Can Ignore Few Things

As expected Khushwant Singh does not surprise with a frank and bold account of certain parts of his life, about people he admired, hated, or criticized. Though few things have gone over the head (which I feel could have been avoided), rest assured a delightful read. If you're expecting a comprehensive reading, this book is not for you. What he talks about in 'Absolute Khushwant' is in parts, randomly picked from his life. He shares why he started hating LK Advani despite earlier being a good ...

Not so good.

If you read Khushwant singh in Newspaper, you will not find anything new. All articles compiled are already published in newspapers. And about quality of articles, except few, I am not impressed. Many articles give you blur and loose opinions of Singh. Some incidents repeat in several chapters. It was an indifferent read.
