The D version featured sensor equipment in its nose consisting of infrared systems, laser targeting capabilities plus 20mm cannon upgrades and stronger power plants. A number of 18 aircraft were converted between 1979 and 1980. USMC OV-10D were in action during Desert Storm in 1991, mainly for surveillance at night. 1995 came the official retirement for the Bronco in the American forces, but US civil authorities and many countries still use this versatile and reliable plane.
