A must read for those whu want to know raise and downfall of PMO and Dr. MM Singh

Few days ago, I was reading news paper and find a cartoon there, that was the time when Academy Awards were announced and in that cartoon it was mentioned that our three big politician were floating in the air (representing the success of the Oscar wining movie "gravity) and one person on the ground showing similarity with our PM was appearing very happy with a trophy in his hand and it was mentioned 10 years a slave (representing the 10 years tenure of Dr. Singh as PM in NDA1 and NDA2). Great book to read

It's a great book to read if one is truly interested in finding out how Sonia Gandhi remote controlled UPA 1 and UPA 2.I would like to thank Sanjaya Baru sir for having the courage to write such a book which will be read by the coming generations and they will know how a PM was made helpless by Gandhi's.This book reveals that Manmohan Singh was an under-rated politician. He knew how to survive.

Great Effort Mr. Baru

Well, you would be, both, surprised and, not-surprised, after you read this. You will applaud the compassion Mr. Singh has shown till 1991 and the kind of respect he gathered from his peers as associates. This book, very neatly, describes how a person with so high, an integrity and learning, succumbs to an authority, who intellectually, is nothing but miniscule w...

Leader without leadership skills

This book manages to uncover the Prime Minister in a number of ways. His relationship with the Gandhis apart, for me he came across as a man of paradoxes:

1. His claim to fame is liberalisation of the Indian economy, but spends his time and energy on big government spending programmes
2. Known for financial integrity, but feels no remorse in not keeping his word.
3. Is seen as a liberal and mild, but is a party to threatening CNN IBN and stops them from airing the sting on vote over th...

Reading this book is much better than watching the same movie in which some content is assumed while making the movie
However reading books are better than movies

Insightful and Sad

Sanjaya Baru was Prime Minster Manmohan Singh's media advisor during UPA's 1st term. This is his account of PM and people in his vicinity. It is perhaps an important service rendered to a man who would not or could not speak for himself. You learn something about the man himself, his awareness and acceptance of his situation in his party. You learn how his greatest achievements came about, how he could put his foot down when he wanted.

Baru was loyal to his PM but not blind to his failings. ...
