Value for money, but not flawless

If you don't use heavy softwares or if you aren't a gamer or if you don't like huge bulky notebooks, go for this one. It's light, compact and fully fits in the 'netbook' category. The battery life is around 5-6 hours. Windows 7 works perfectly fine, though I insist you install Ubuntu if you are interested in simply browsing the net, reading PDFs and music/movies.
Although the biggest drawback is that usually the screen flickers a lot if there is some heavy process going on, like installing a...

    Overall positive about this laptop

Anyone looking for a light, cheap but usable netbook with good battery life will not be disappointed. Works well under Debian (wheezy) GNU/Linux.

The laptop also works well with Meego including 3D graphics acceleration. Too bad that Meego does not support LVM out of its repositories!

    1. The graphics card GMA 3600 is not supported for 3D acceleration under Linux (except Meego) as of 20-07-2012. Thus the simplest
option is to run under "fbdev". This has other implications. (Update: Thi...

    Best Buy for Portability

Its a very good purchase for
    - those who are frequent travelers,
    - those who don't need a large screen to do their jobs like documenting, communicating & internet based work style.
    - those who hate large screens and heavy laptops
    - plus those who are awaken now from ipad era and now need a small device which could actually function like a full computer.

i was initially considering an ASUS 10' laptop on flipkart itself (Asus Eee PC 1015CX-BLK011W Netbook Intel Atom/1GB/320GB/Linux) but ...

    BEst BuY from FLipKART

To begin with, thanks to flipkart for prompt delivery within 24 hrs (in chennai). I am so pleased with the order processing and follow up on my query regarding the warranty processing. Ahh... Acer doesn't disappoints in netbook category and so the aspire one series . The product stands tall for its excellent power backup(more than six hours ) and the New N2600 processor gives an edge over other competitors with boost from 2GB RAM and 1MB cache memory...

Overall, a netbook worth every single penny

    Hello everyone..
I was eying for a netbook since a few months and had short listed an HP machine and this one from Acer.

Finally decided to go for the Acer D 270. So, on 22nd Nov, 2012, I placed the order on Flipkart which is offering the best price in comparison to the market esp places like croma, vijay sales etc.

I am pretty happy with the super quick delivery from Flipkart - 36 hours flat from the time of order. So thank you Flipkart.

This machine does not come with a usable OS - comes...

Excellent laptop - Value for Money

I had procured this as a gift for my father and he was really pleased with it. It is definitely small in size and the 2GB Ram allows it to perform well. The Laptop came with a Linux version that had to be replaced with Ubuntu. Since there was no CD, had to obtain a boot able Ubuntu installation and do it from scratch. Overall it rocks 2 GB RAM memory, 320 GB HDD and 10.1 inch netbook. Small but really powerful CPU. With Ubuntu off course you get a LibreOffice Writer, Impress and Calc that pro...

    Good for lightweight use

I am a student and its really painful to carry huge laptop regularly to college for presentations, this device is so light that my shoulders thank me every day.

Already many people have mentioned its merits
    I will mention one pain-point I got.

I installed Lubuntu 12.04 for its stability and speed. Using google-chrome, youtube used near 100% processor power because of lack of opensource drivers for Intel GMA in linux

Also video playback was bad. But Ubuntu allows one to install the binary p...
