Description
Warli art is a tribal art from rural Maharashtra (India) reflecting the daily life of village folks, paintings made with all vegetable and natural colours using bamboo brushes.
The central motif in these ritual paintings is surrounded by scenes portraying hunting, fishing and farming, festivals and dances, trees and animals. This extremely rudimentary wall paintings use a very basic graphic vocabulary circle, triangle and square. Only the square seems to obey a different logic and seems to be a human invention, indicating a sacred enclosure or a piece of land. The harmony and balance depicted in these paintings is supposed to signify the harmony and balance of the universe.
This Warli painting will look great in your house, living room or office lobby. Works great as a gift item too.
