    Ratnakar Matkari hails from Maharashtra, India, and is a well-known author, producer, and director in Marathi cinema and theatre. He was born in the year 1938, in Mumbai. He is married to Pratibha Matkari, who is also an artist. He has written numerous plays, which include Aranyak, Dubhang, Sate Lote, and Albatya Galbatya. He has acted in some of his own plays as well. The author has also served as a member of the advisory committee of All India Radio.
