Released under the banner of M. Gunasundari, Shivaraj stepped into the field of direction in the Tamil cinema with his debut movie Adithadi. The movie starred Satyaraj, Rathi, Napoleon and Abbas as mainstream actors of Adithadi. The peppy commercial soundtrack for the movie is composed by the most familiar music director in the tamil film industry, Deva.

The director has scripted the movie Adithadi, to neatly fit into the drama and action genre. The story is about a middle aged bachelor, who falls in love with a college going girl. While the twist in the movie stems when the audience find out, that the girl agrees to the middle aged bachelors proposal, in spite of having a boyfriend already because she fears challenging the middle aged rowdy. The resolutions to this clash in the movie support the climax and eventually to the end of the movie.
