About Steven S. Muchnick
Steven Stanley Muchnick is a prominent computer science researcher. He is best known as the author of the 1997 thesis called “Advanced Compiler Design and Implementation”. He obtained his PhD in Computer Science from Cornell University in the year 1974. After completing his graduation, Steven became a professor at the University of Kansas. It was during this time that he wrote several research papers. Many of these research papers were published in the Journal of the ACM. He stopped teaching in a while, and began using his knowledge of compilers with a team that developed the computer architectures: PA-RISC at Hewlett-Packard and SPARC at Sun Microsystems.
