About Rex Black

Rex Black is an American author, software engineer, and entrepreneur.

Black has written many books, some of which are Foundations of Software Testing, Critical Testing Processes: Plan, Prepare, Perform, Perfect, and Pragmatic Software Testing: Becoming an Effective and Efficient Test Professional. These have been published in Russian, Chinese, Indian, Hebrew and Japanese editions. Managing the Testing Process: Practical Tools and Techniques for Managing Hardware and Software Testing has sold more than thirty-thousand copies worldwide. Black is also a member of the editorial board of Software Test & Performance Magazine. He has attended many international conferences where he has presented papers, conducted workshops, written articles, and given keynote speeches. 

Black was born in 1964. He graduated in 1990 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering. The author has been working in the field of software engineering for more than two decades. He is the founder and President of Rex Black Consulting Services, Inc. Black has taught at the University of Texas at Austin- Center for Lifelong Engineering Education, and has designed the curriculum for software testing at Villanova University.
