Advanced Theory of Structures and Matrix Method. The authors have attempted to give in this book detailed analysis of beams on elastic foundations and analysis of non-linear structures in a simple form. Analysis by matrices methods has been dealt with in a simple way. The problems given in the book have been worked out to show comparison between classical methods and matrices methods. Analysis of simple structures is possible by hand method. More difficult problems will require use of computers. In this revised edition, new chapters viz., Shell Construction, Folded Plate Construction, Adhesively Bonded Joints, Sandwich Structures, Stress Analysis of Cracks and Fracture Mechanics have been added. With these additions, it is hoped the book will be more helpful to the students.
