Sometimes a simple Agatha Christie can pack a whole lot of more punch than her other celebrated works.. I opened this one just after I read "Peril At End House" which is usually rated higher than this one and for the same reason, I did not have much expectations.. For sure "Peril at End House" is a really good read but considering that the entire shock value is totally dependent on one singular but amazing sleight of hand, if you noticed it, the entire pack of cards can come down pretty easi...

I have read till chapter 5 and it's prolific. Book was in very good condition, and was packed neatly.

a novel which let you gessing wrong till the last chapter !!!!!!! it was just as expected with no regrets after completing the book .

This is one of the Christie book where the plot plays the a very big role than Poirot. The last few pages are very racy and hats of to the writer for the plot. You can never guess the culprit until it is revealed. Definitely an under rated book which should be in the top ten .


H.Poirot fans may not rate this high but being a A.Christie fan this is definitely a must read.

After the funeral was the 8th Hercule, I had read, and this one is a bit different from the other 7. Hercule enters much later in this mystery as the larger part of the story is devoted to the family members and the lawyer. The final revealation was a surprise, and frankly, I didn't even see that coming. The primary clue that gave away the murderer was also unexpected.
The book was too well packed to cause very minor folds on the cover of the book.
