This is a game from the past. I like it, but not many seem to play this in the presence of many alternatives. Unlike shooter games this is a strategy game and hence belongs to a different class to those games on PS3 and Xbox. The biggest plus point of the AOM games is how well the various civilizations have been differentiated. Even within the same civilization, how you age up changes the kind of units you have. The unit bonuses have more effect (for example, cavalry are better than archers).

The graphics are also really great.

This is one of the best games I ever played. I have played the campaign over and over again but never stopped playing it. The Extended edition is going to be released on May 8th 2014. From what I can tell from the trailers online it features improved graphics, improved lighting and effects and day night cycles. Other than that it is the same game. It is available for pre-order on steam. But if you don't like spending around 1500 for the new game, go for this.

I have spent a good period of time of my student life playing this game. I am so glad to purchase it finally. It has great graphics, needs you to use a lot of brain and teaches you a lot besides being amazingly entertaining. The concept of Myth units and Heroes is what has set it apart from other games in the same genre for me.
