Airport Engineering: Planning And Design is an ideal read for airline engineers and students aspiring for careers in designing and maintenance of airports.
Summary Of The Book
Domestic and international air travel has increased in leaps and bounds. This, in turn, has brought about a greater need for enhanced facilities and provisions at airports. Engineers will have to be geared up for the challenging task at hand of building new airports, refining existing airports and making them conducive to deal with the increase in passengers and cargo volume.
Airport Engineering: Planning And Design helps engineers in their quest to develop an improved methodology. It also guides them in an evaluation of the current scenario and helps them make the right decisions. It helps them to make informed choices regarding designing, planning, and airport upkeep. It even teaches them how to ensure that the level of service provided at airports does not diminish, despite the increase of travellers.
To make this text a practical manual, several illustrations and exercises are incorporated into the chapters. Practise questions are also featured, that help students brush up for important competitive exams. Airport Engineering: Planning And Design is also helpful for those in the field of research and teaching, as it provides up-to-date information in all chapters. The recommendations provided by the International Civil Aviation Organization in Canada and Federal Aviation Agency in the US, have formed the basis of this text.
The book first presents readers with a glimpse of the past as it opens with significant historical developments of aviation and aircrafts.
