AJOB PREM EBON
is a unique story of a bus conductor and the super bus itself. Nakul, the conductor of Urochoti Super, is obsessed with the bus and almost in love with it. The story takes a dramatic turn when the bus runs over an innocent village boy named Ananta. The owner of the bus, who incidentally is also the local leader of the leading political party, wants to rub off the accident fearing its negative impact on the forthcoming election and hides the bus in a nearby jungle. Moyna, Anantas widow, wants justice and refuses to let the matter go so easily. She starts looking for the bus in the jungle and there she meets Nakul.
Bajranad, a passionate teacher of mathematics also meets Nakul in the jungle because he wants the bus to run by his school so that the students can come. As the story unfolds, the exploitation by political parties in remote villages begins to show through dark comedy. Nakul and Moyna fall in love with each other and Bajranad motivates the villagers to stand against the exploitation of the political leaders.
The entire film is set against the beautiful landscape of remote Bengal villages and its colourful life.
